Yippe – I needed more to do this holiday season!!! No, not really, but I’m going to do it anyway.
Beth,
It’s Melynda, the otedama tutorial person. I’ve tried to email twice, but something has gone terribly wrong. It’s not too late, is it? Or if it is, please know that it wasn’t me being rude, it was the technology failing me!
Melynda
love, love, love this idea! can’t wait!
How fun is this?!
I can’t wait to check in every day to see what’s up! I can’t promise I will do it all this month – but what an awesome resourse list!

Definitely want to give some of it a go!
I have committed myself to making as many Christmas gifts as I can. Now, I know I can’t hand make the bikes the kids will get, but, I can make other toys and clothes and things. I love the idea of this November Challenge…and maybe I’ll even get some ideas on what to make for my brother! lol!
Excitement!!!!! Especiallly the ornaments. Hmmm can I manage 30 gifts in 30 days?? A personal challenge. Thanks Sew Mama Sew it all looks fab. Also thanks to all those amazing crafters out there for a)sharing and putting tutorials all the net for neebies and b)allowing Sew Mama Sew to link them to their blog.
This is great! As an aside, a few of the quotation marks are incorrect in the above html for the button as I had to make some changes for it to show up, just fyi!
This seems like something I can really get into. What do I do besides posting the button on my blog?
Thanks!
I am so excited that you are doing this. I’ve been needing inspiration for handmade gifts and motivation to get started!!! I’ll have to post the button on my blog. HOW FUN!
I’ve been working on a few gifts, but can use inspiration! Can’t wait to see what you have planned!
Oh my goodness! Are you kidding me? I am so all over this idea and actually feel inspired already and I haven’t even SEEN of the ideas yet. I am putting the button my blog for sure.

Kim

I’m so ready for some holiday gift fun-
Thanks so much – I can’t wait for these (maybe I could set myself a challenge to actually make one thing for every day as well). And I even managed to get the button on my blog!
I think this is a fabulous idea, and one that I can certainly get behind. This has been a year of reflection for me and my family with regards to our impact on the enviornment, products we buy and lifestyle choices we have made. I think we are making some very positive choices to lessen our footprint, and this is certainly an additonal way to further our goals. Plus , handmade says so much more then a mass produced item. Thank you for the nudge! Jennifer
*rubbing my hands together with impatient anticipation*
Alright! Can’t wait to start my gifts!
Ok, I’m waiting with baited breath for the first calendar event to start this morning! I can’t wait!

Handmade Holidays: 30 Days of Gifts to Sew…
Sew, Mama, Sew! has compiled “100 of the best sewing tutorials on the web” and will feature a couple each day during the month of November. Get inspired to make your own gifts this year….
Hi I just found your blog a couple days ago. Im new to sewing but would love to make stuff for my family.. I am really looking forward to reading your blog everyday!
This is a wonderful idea. Even people like me for whom drawstring bags are the pinnacle of sewing achievement can play along.
I have always had it in the back of my mind to start making reusable gift bags from felt/velvet/etc so that each time I give someone something, they also get a bag to reuse. The tricky thing is some kind of closure that is easy but dissuades the curious from peeking.
I love your blog! I always try to make all my Christmas gifts every year for my family, but it’s gotten to the point where I’m so busy and have had to buy some of the gifts. So now I make it a point to make at least one handmade gift for each person. Your site is really making me get in the crafting mood now. I can’t wait to start making stuff.
Oh this is just the greatest thing ever! I have a wee little mind when it comes to idea for making gifts and my creative juices are already flowing! THANKS!
the sneak peek looks great! I’ll be adding the button to my site!
thanks!!!!
This is a totally great idea! I’ll be visiting often but it is also helping me see how I can organize my own gift-making this year — I think I should stick with a ‘theme a week’ but right now it’s looking like a powerfully supportive way to meet my gift-maiking goals – thanks!
Oh I am SO excited!! Thanks!!
Can’t wait to get started! What a blessing! Thank you for all your hard work! My daughter and I will have a lot of fun doing these together! This is going to be a very lean Christmas, but you have helped us out and a great answer to prayer! God bless you!
This is a brilliant idea. I for one will be checking in daily to find out what you have in store for us all!
you ladies are fantastic! so many thanks for all of the holiday crafting inspiration.
Wow – great ideas. We’ll see how much time the boy allows for me to do it!!!
Woo! This is Faaahbulous!! Just what I needed, 30 excuses not to go to the mall and shop for the same ol same ol
THANKS!!!!!
this is fabulous!! can’t wait to get started!!!
I am so excited about this!
Brilliant!! Thanks for doing this!
wow, looking forward to following along!
This is so cool! Hopefully it will get me to work on my Christmas gift projects well before the last minute!
i know its about making gifts for others, but thankyou for your gift to us!
I am so excited about this. I am such a sucker for new holiday projects. I have a bad addiction to magazines but most of those projects are too mainstream. I can’t wait to see what you have made everyday.
What a great idea. I’m going to try – really I am – to keep up with your tips. That’s a whole lot of little gifts to look forward to giving.
ME
Ooh, I can’t wait to see all the great ideas!
[...] Handmade Holiday ideas: 1 ~ [...]
Yipee~I am so excited. Time to get that stash busted and make some gifts.
YAY!!!!
This is just terrific! The first two days show of more treats to come….I’ll be glued to your blog for 30 days.
Thank-you!It’s like a Christmas gift to your readers.
I’ll have to clear the decks to make some homemade gifts this year.
Swamped with two big quilt projects. Deadline: December 24! Yikes.
This could be the answer to my prayers for the “something different” items to give this Christmas . Everyone loves to receive hand made items. ~barb
Wow! This is so neat! I am so impressed and excited to give some of these a try:O)
Sew Awesome! I’m putting up your button on my site too.
I am so excited about all the tutorials- people’s genorosity in sharing their tutorials has kept me going in my sewing and crafting endeavors- I know this is going to be a great resource!
Totally fabulous! Got it added to my site.
how super exciting!
I will be participating. Just the jumpstart that I needed. I posted the button on my blog.
It took me a while to figure out how to get to the projects. I finally clicked on the TIPS button on your blog and “Voila!” there they appeared. Thanks for your daily inspirations!
Thank you so much for the inspiration!
This is so awesome! Thanks for this!
This is fabulous. I have been thinking about doing a completely handmade Christmas for a few years, but never seem to get going early enough. This will be the year! Thanks for the wonderful inspiration.

Very Cool! I’m doing something similar on my blog, but I’m not cool enough to offer prizes. LOL Maybe I should have.
What a GREAt Idea! Can’t wait to get started and get giving!!
I’ve been thinking of a crafting Christmas, and now I have no excuse. Am really excited about this. Thank y’all for the planning this for us.
What a wonderful resource. I’ve shared with both my Yahoo group and placed your logo on my blog. Thanks for offering this!
I am totally loving all of your ideas. One that I make and people love are mittens made from felted wool sweaters. Simple , colorful and warm.
Thanks for all the fun project ideas! Marcia
What a fantastic idea — and thank you all for making the effort to share your knowledge.
I just hope I can keep up! ; )
Peace,
Genie
Oh how exciting!!!! What a great way to spread the holiday cheer early!!
Neat! I’m excited to see the projects. We have such a large family I’ve exhausted all the crafts I already know how to do! Can’t wait to learn some new ones.
Posted the badge up on my blog!
Hello! Wow, I’m so glad I found this! I’m a bit late getting in on it all, but I will definitely share about it on my blog and join in on the fun! I was so excited to find that Lisa at The Domestic Diva blog listed my free pattern yesterday in her list of tote patterns in support of your Handmade Holidays feature, and I followed her link over here. I have visited your shop and blog before, and after finding this, I can’t wait to visit everyday to see what fun you have going on. I joined in on the right day … November 7 ~ For your Purse or Pocket! Thanks!
I posted your badge on my blog too. These ideas are fab. I’m off to see the links of tutorials that were already posted. Thanks!
What a wonderful idea – I hope you have one for us procrastinators with last minute desperate craft binges!! I am definitely going to check back and see the craftiness as it unfolds!
Oh, so many ideas..
I think this is such a great idea!

Loving these 30 days of gifting ideas – I would love to make them all! Maybe that should be a New Year’s resolution – start making gifts in January instead of November!
Thanks again!
Wow that’s an amazing list of handmade gift ideas! I’ve loved the ones posted so far, can’t wait for the rest! Thanks for the inspiration, I love it!
These nice little felt ornaments are something I could figure out how to use all year round.
Even though I’m a late reader..I think this is a wonderful idea!!!
now if only we could accomplish each of those projects in one day!
I am loving these posts. New to your blog and very much enjoying it. I hope to have 10 seconds to myself to sew some of these great ideas sometime soon — two babies keeping me otherwise occupied! Can’t wait for Nov 14th to see what you come up with for that post.
Beautiful ideas, thanks for sharing
I am so excited I saw your button and came over! I give cookies every year and I want to do somthing different! Thank you for the inspiration!
I’m so glad I found a link to this blog through another homeschool blog I was reading. I’ve been trying to think of things the kids and I could make for family members for Christmas, and I think this is the answer I’ve been looking for. I cannot wait to get started.
Blessings,
Missy
I can’t believe I just found out about this! What a great idea. Thanks!
There are some great ideas here – thanks for doing this!
I love this “November of Goodies to sew”. I have told everyone I know who sews to get their act together now, and start sewing and being creative whilst there is time before Christmas sets in.
I am working on a sewing school project with my daughter, and the need for the sewing machine has been necessary. In fact I am loving having my machine out after so long, that I am running things up left right and centre. And guess what- the Pincushions Tutorials were the thing to push me over the edge- after so long wanting a stuffed ‘softie’ pincushion, I finally made one (for me)- well 6 now in one week to be used for Christmas presents for teachers, friends and ‘thank-you’s. Keep up the fantastic work, I am on the link everyday to check out the latest projects.
Fantastic idea!!! Thanks for all the ideas!!
What a fun month!
I just found your site and look forward to checking it daily for the updates.
Are there supposed to be tutorials? I don’t see them.
This is such a great idea, I’d just like to know how to make all the items on the list.
What a great website. Can’t wait to get started on some of these great projects.
Keep up the good work.
Marie
Hi, Please include me in this fun adventure. Thanks, Cindi
lovely ideas , and very do-able, thanks mucho
This is so good – a new idea every day… love it! Thanks!
This is just what I’ve been looking for. I’m sick of buying presents when handmade presents are so much prettier, safer (toy recalls, anyone?) and more meaningful.
Yay! This site is a new find for me. I’ve already tried 2 spin offs of your projects and I’m a nonsewer. I turned the crayon rolly into a crayon apron. Once using fabric and once using oilcloth. Cute either way, although oilcloth was hard.
Am forwarding this site to my entire address book of crafty friends.
Thanks so much and keep up the good work!
Great references too – I’m lovin’ it all!!!
Hi, I am ready! I am not that talented, but I always give it the old college try! Thanks, Cindi
jchoppes(at)hotmail(dot)com
Well I’m a bit late for this
I hope you do it next year.
Yes, retyping the quotation marks works. Should only have one quotation mark at a time, not a pair.
Love your site
Hey, how about hotlinking each of these to the page for each, as they are released? I keep referring back to the main list, but there are no links.
