It’s wonderful what a long life some quilts have!
OOh, this is one of my favorites!
More bright and beautiful colors! I love it!
It’s nice to see vintage quilts being loved and cared for. Hope people feel that way about the ones I’ve made and given with love!
How would a quilt like this have been pieced? I can’t tell what the blocks might have been – would it have been done as a whole from the center out?
One can only hope that the time and love we put into a quilt will be as appreciated by someone
WOW!! What a great find! Libby
This is really cool! I love red and yellow together, two of my favorite colors! The fact that it is vintage, makes it that much better!
Wow, I would love to find something as beautiful as this! It was meant to be yours!
This is a lovely quilt. I was also wondering about how it was pieced. Hopefully we’ll see another quilt with similar piecing and more information on how it’s done.
That is so fun!
I just have find your blog and yet you are one of my prefered blogs. You can see it in http://campodifiore.wordpress.com/
cool quilt.
Super funky quilt and a great family heirloom.
I haven’t been lucky to stumble upon any vintage quilts… I guess I need to head out to yard sales earlier in the morning! It looks really snuggly!
I love it. It made me go dig out an oldie from my pile of quilts and projects. It’s vintage to my family since it’s the first one I made. It’s fun to look back at the fabric I so loved at the time and see how my tastes have changed. I may be motivated to use the same pattern with today’s fabrics. Could be interesting.
Great posts! I’ve so enjoyed this month.
I wish I had a vintage quilt. I did pick up some sample quilts from a quilt shop that was clearing old samples – they were very inexpensive. Most were just tops to be finished, but I figured that would make for ultra fast gifts.
Very pretty!
What a find! I would love to be the owner of a vintage quilt. I guess I’ll just have to make one one time and have that be a vintage quilt in 50 years!
I suppose most of my quilts are becoming “vintage” since they’re over twenty years old (hard to believe). Seriously, I have a quilt made by my husband’s grandmother that is a “Grandmother’s Flower Garden” in yellows and scrap prints that I think is pretty old. I also sometimes get to borrow from my sister a green and white “Carpenter’s Wheel” quilt that was made by our great grandmother and must be close to a hundred years old by now. My sister got the quilt, I got the treadle sewing machine. It was a hard choice.
I love the graphic quality of this red, yellow, and white quilt. It would be interesting to know the history of this quilt and how it was made.
This is simple and beautiful! It’s all about the colors!!
I only hope that a few of mine someday become vintage. I love knowing that its warmth has been shared by many.
Oh Quilt of the Day . . . you are killing me, but please don’t stop!
Wow…what a find!!! I love the bold colors and design.
Red and yellow just make you smile. Quilt’s can be so addictive.
I have recently purchased a vintage quilt top to finish too. Fun!
beautiful! so simple in its beauty.
What a find!
It’s beautiful!
I love the red and yellow together!
Red and yellow, LOVE it!
I have an old quilt from a garage sale, I believe. It’s not quite as pretty as this one though!
Don’t you just love how they (vintage quilts) never go out of style.
it’s great when vintage quilts like this can be used
Love the bright colors! I have a quilt made by my great-grandma, and another by my husband’s great grandmother, and they are treasures!
It´s good to see something cared and havinga longlife like this quilt, specially in a world where almost everything is meant to be disposable
Oh I just love the colours in this quilt and its used, so thats even better!

I have a quilt that my mother-in-law gave us before she died, and I have no idea who made it. I need to contact some of her family and see what I can find out. My mom has a stack of quilts that her grandmothers made, so someday…. someday, I will have some of those.
