Introduction ~ Amy of Happythings
From Beth: We love everything Amy creates and all that she captures on her Happythings blog. She has a special talent for quilting, and is also so clear and approachable when she shares techniques, tutorials and ideas about her creating process and inspiration. Amy was therefor a natural choice to be our Quilting Month expert on batting. We know you’ll learn a thing or two (or more!) from her Batting Guide, and we hope you’ll stop by Happythings and her quilts photo gallery. Amy also makes lots of quilts for children through the non-profit Linus Connection; you can see her Linus Quilts here.
From Amy: I’m a mom from Austin. TX. I grew up watching my mom sew, but began sewing myself in 2005 after receiving a sewing machine for Christmas. Simple, fun and often scrappy quilts have been my passion but I’ve dabbled in other types of sewing. I enjoy making quilts for babies and kids – for those I know and those I don’t know through a local blanket making charity.
