And the quilts!… Small variations in the quilting, size and placement of pinwheel blocks can make a huge difference in your design.

CampFollowerBagLady pieced this quilt top with 3D charm pack pinwheels.
She included a 3D Pinwheel Tutorial in her Flickr sets if you want to make one too!

Check out the patchwork detail of lots and lots of pinwheels together in Shar211‘s quilt!

Ohsewfresh‘s pinwheel blocks are different sizes, giving her pieced top great visual depth.
She used the Swell collection from Urban Chicks.

Contrasting thread gives the quilting extra impact in this doll quilt from wholeclothdesigns.
Be sure to take full advantage of Week 1′s Three 9-Patch Variations, Week 2′s Irish Chain, Shoo Fly & Variable Star or Ohio Star, Week 3′s Log Cabin, Courthouse Steps & Squares in Squares and Week 4′s Pinwheel & Cartwheel (Whirligiggle) Block-Along tutorials to continue with the quilting fun. Although Spring is popping out in many places in the USA, it is not in the Northeast quite yet, so we have lots of white snow. The colors of these quilts, pinwheels and whirlygigs are so much fun to see. Thanks for sharing them with us.
