As we make our way through September’s Sewing for the Home, don’t forget about Autum’s fantastic Perfectly Portable Cushion tutorial. Her piping tips will be so helpful if you tackle slipcovers (or even a nice pillow or two!). |

Just in case you missed what her cushions can do to change the look of a nook in your home, check out Autum’s glider via creative little daisy. Here are some extra tips too.

Thank you, as always, for the wonderful tips! I can do upholstery, but not slipcovers… This is motivating me to give it another go.
This cover is so beautiful – the piping especially adds that important level of detail to make it look so perfect. I have a similar glider (though no arm cushions or foot rest) that I’m thinking of recovering in some of the new Amy Butler deco weight fabric. The only thing holding me back is my anti-foam bias. I really feel better about natural materials but haven’t found a non-foam option for chair cushions. Does anyone have any ideas?
Hey! Here are my patchwork dish towels!

I love your blog because it always gives me good ideas!
That is gorgeous!
I love this. I have a glider in desparate need of pimping. I just need to decide on fabric and find an electric knife…
WOW!! Those covers are so pretty. I love them!! and love the choice of fabrics.
That piping is so perfect!
That’s it. I’m recovering my glider. I was going to get rid of it, but it’s so comfortable!
Love it! This is what I need to do to our rocker in our nursery. It desperately needs some new fabric.
What perfect timing! I’m redoing my daughter’s room from baby to little girl, but I didn’t want to take out her glider yet. She’s my last, and the thought of getting rid of the baby rocker was more than I could bear. So now I’ll just update it
Thanks for always posting so many great projects!
ha ha. i THOUGHT that looked familiar! thanks for reposting such an awesome tutorial!
Love those cushions! Thanks for reminding me of this great tutorial. Autum, you come up with such awesome stuff!!!
Well, I am very excited for this link and the tips because this is just what I have been wanting to do with our glider!
Just beautiful! Thanks for the inspiring guidance, Autum. The piping is the perfect finishing touch to the cushions.
darling!
I’ve been looking for some tips on how to make cushions to update a chair I want to put in my baby’s nursery. Thanks for the great tutorials and tips!
I love these cushions and the colors are awesome. They inspire me to make some cushions of my own.
Fabulous. Thank you. x
This is faboulous! Thanks, Autum!!!
I wish I had a chair that needs recovering! And the courage to recover one by myself. This turned out so beautiful. I might consider charging people to sit in it – it’s THAT pretty! hehehe
I am definitely trying this! I have (almost) the same rocker, and after 4 years and 3 kids on cream cushions, its looking a little worn. I can’t wait to give it a makeover!!!
Oh my gosh!!!!! I cannot even tell you just how much I want to do this to my daughters old glider. I am going to have to think about it. Oh it is just so cute!!!!!!
Great Idea!
I love this!
This glider looks amazing!
Ooh I was looking for a project like this – i love your fabric choices!!
i have a blueberry stained chair that so needs this facelift. Thanks for the idea!
This was a great tutorial. I’m still intimidated by the prospect though.
Beautiful work
Thanks for the tutorial!
I have a chair that used to be my late grandfather’s. I am using your tips and inspiration to make replacement cushions for that special chair. Thank you so much for giving me the “sew know-how”.
Have a great evening,
Nancy
What a great tutorial! I’ll have to try this for my next nursery.
Amazing, thanks for the tips–I just want to know about how many yards of fabric will I need for this–My glider is
about the same size & shape, bowback etc…
I am not to crafty, and wondered if anyone was interested in doing this for me. Of course I would pay you and supply the fabric. If you live in the LA area, please email me lmcconaghy331@yahoo.com. Thanks!!
