Beautiful & simple! I’m copying that tutorial – now I just need one for placemats.
Love the rick rack trim. I will definitely have to try that. I love to make napkins.
Oh, and re: fat quarters and napkins. I usually let my kids pick out novelty fat quarters at the quilting shop. Then, I trim them square and make a napkin with the one piece. With the remaining strip, I make the kids a bean bag! They love to pick out their own designs. I like to use dried lentils in the bean bag.
I like the look of the rick rack trim on these napkins. I also liked the tutorial with the napkins and matching bag to put the napkins in. These would be nice shower, or housewarming gifts. Not to mention going green.
I love this! I often buy decorative napkins to use simular to place mats on my lamp tables in my livingroom. I never thought much about making my own…this would be great! And I’d get what I truely want.
Love the idea. Great pictures.
Now, that’s clever — our napkins are getting so faded in the wash, it might be good to make some new ones!
How wonderful! I’ve got some place mats that are just plain colors, this will liven them up nicely!
I love Angharad’s tutorial! I made christmas napkins for a hostess gift this year and it was soo easy!!!
Ooh, those napkins look great! Off to look at the links…
Must clean sewing room… SMS is recharging my sewing spark!
I really love the fabrics used in these napkins!
I am really enjoying this month’s Fat Quarter theme and all the ideas. I have to commend everyone involved with this. Not only are you guys pumping out one great idea after another, your also introducing me to so many fabulous blogs. You are helping to enhance my internet and sewing world.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!
Laura
I love fabric napkins…and these with rickrack…fabO!!
Very, very cute!
Super cute! Had not seen these done with the ric rac before, adds a really great touch. In a small size these would make great little cocktail napkins for a dinner party.
I may need to get myself some ric rac. Those are so cool, I am pretty sure we need some napkins…
Love it! Thanks!
Oh I can’t wait to try this for spring! How pretty!
Awesome timing! I am making monogrammed napkins for a ladies tea this month!
I have a whole slew of fabric napkins…another way for us to have fabric at hand 3 more times each day!!! Thank you for some incredible examples.
i love the rick rack detail in these napkins, it makes them look so cute! i’m in desperate need of new cloth napkins…looks like a good project!
I have that same floral fabric. I have had no idea what to do with it yet, so this may be the project!
Love those napkins!
So fun! I love these!
I love this! I am going to start shopping for napkin material today!
ooh, i really like these napkins!
Hello! I really like that large graphic fabric….who is the designer of that, and where did you get it (sorry if it’s on here and I just don’t see it
Thanks!!
Great tutorial! Thanks for sharing!
I love the napkins!
We’ve been thinking about getting some cloth napkins (just to be more eco-friendly). These are great and so practical. I love the prints above–and the hand printed ones are so nice!
Thanks for another great tutorial.
A friend of mine wants me to sew her 23 large napkins for a wedding. I’d better not show her this darling tutorial, or she’ll be wanting them double-sided and rick-racked!
Beautiful napkins!
Great project. Thanks.
I love the ric rac on the edges!
Napkins! I keep meaning to make those. I really like the rick-rack detailing on these.
I’ve been thinking about making cloth napkins for a while now. Love the tutorial! Does anybody have any suggestions for the best material to use for napkins?
This is a great idea. Esp. for hostess gifts, who doesn’t need another set of napkins? Thank you!
Very cute and what a great way to coordinate your napkins with your kitchen or dishes!
I fully intend to make some napkin sets to give as gifts for the holidays (yes I’m planning early). They’re simple to make, yet useful and pretty!
Napkins are on my to-do list… I have the perfect fabric to match my placemats!
Those are adorable! And what a great project for fat quarter packs. They’d all coordinate without actually matching-that’s one of my favorite looks.
Nice tutorial Ashley. At first I saw that ric-rack and thought-there’s no way! But how easy! Thanks!
Very pretty!
Lovely! what a great little wedding or housewarming gift idea.
This is a great idea! And I have been wanting to make some napkins. I’m so excited!
So cute! Here’s to hoping I will soon be making blue napkins!!! WOOOHOOO fat quarters giveaway!!!

I love the look with the rick-rack.
Very nice and simple to make!
Oh my goodness. I love that these are both mod and retro at the same time. What a fun idea to ad the ric-rac. The green aspect of them is also very appealing! Thank you for sharing.
These napkins are a great idea and would make a perfect and easy hostess gift!
The napkin is great. I love using the ric rac for decorative edging.
These are cool. They would make great Christmas gifts or hostess gifts.
These napkins are so cute and festive! Perfect for summer BBQ’s!
I love the fabric she used! Very chic.
I could use some new, cute napkins! Great idea.
oh, the rick rac is cuuuute!
These are very cute, I made some and gave them away but I should make some for me to keep.
that ashley has such great ideas. how cute!
Cute napkins, and I like that they are two sided, so the seams don’t show as ones that are hemmed do.
So cute! This is the next step I’m taking to consuming less…”green” napkins.
These look simple enough- I have no excuse not to whip up a set! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for all these great napkin tutorials. I especially love the rickrack!
Can’t wait for the swap!
Great tutorial. It’s hard to go back to paper napkins once you’ve had good ones.
So cute – great project!
I like the ricrac on the napkins. Very nice touch
the rickrack trim is subtle but really makes the whole thing look less “home sewn” as they might say on project runway (and don’t I just want to kick them in the teeth every time they say it!)
This is perfect! My classroom uses cloth napkins at lunch and we are in dire need of new ones– what a great project for little fingers!
I LOVE these napkins. Film in the Fridge is one of my new favorite blogs!
Awesome fabric choice, and very cute with the rick rack!
I love the fabric on these. They look like a great project as well.
Oh so cute !
simple but the ric rak really makes them look posh:P
Wowy zowy, those are pretty spiffy!
This makes me want to stop knitting and bust out the sewing machine…now if I just had a bunch of FQ’s lying around…
Love the pop of color!
Very cute with the addition of the ric-rac…gives them a more casual, everyday feel rather than feeling like they should only be for special occasions.
love the rick rack in these—-what a great idea.
Love the napkins!
I have been wanting to make napkins for an “afternoon tea party” I’m giving my granddaughter and niece. I ordered the “pears pear” fabric to make some and the fabric is awesome. It makes me smile. Can’t wait to use them at the “tea party”.
Love the rick rack!
I had plans to make some napkins this weekend and the adorable rick rack idea is perfect timing.

the fabric is great- so bold and deco!
Yeah! A great way for me to clear out some material that was just given to me!! And easy enough for my daughter to help.
I’ve been trying to think of a good house warming gift for some friends…this would be perfect!
All the fat quarters are beautiful
Wonderful! Wonderful! A nice funky touch and I won’t have to make those slim hems for regular napkins. My fingertips thank youB =]
The rick rack is a GREAT addition! I can’t wait to make a set (or two or three).
Thanks for these tutorials! I need some napkins.

Now I will have to add these to my ever growing list of things to make.
The napkins would make very nice gifts. Great tutorial-can’t wait to try it!
