Very cute! These would make nice baby shower gifts.
so cute! i can always use a few of these for gifts!
Love those fabrics!!
I’m always looking for some good bib ideas – it seems like all my friends are preggo and they are such a great little gift!
I have a lot of bibs to make — and mostly for girls. A pack of pink fat quarters sure would come in handy.
hey! good timing. saving for later.
Adorable bib – and I love the 50′s bib link too! Thanks!
Super cute fabrics. So retro.
Very cute!
This is adorable. I love the yellow and brown.
Pink! I use a lot of pink in this house.
Thanks for all the ideas – I have a lot of scraps to use up, and FQ projects are perfect.
cute project! Thanks.
adorable!! great use of fat quarters!!
Thanks! I’ll have to make one for my niece!
i love this little patchwork bib, so cute! i make bibs for baby gifts all the time, it’s a fun and quick project that always will come in handy for the recipient.
some of my bibs are on my flickr page, [excuse the poor lighting! i need to get a lightbox]

great resource for me since I’m going to be having my first and it seems everyone else is pregnant too!
My sister and I are in the middle of getting a package together for a new baby joining the family I babysit for (she’s due in March!), and this will have to be added! She’s already got a crocheted bib, and a coordinating quilted one would be just too cute.
I love your site, I look at it everyday. I would love to win something from you. You have great giveways. Thanks for all the cute ideas you always post. I love sewing but sometimes you need some fresh new ideas. Thanks
Perfect timing. I was just looking for a bib tutorial!
I’m going to be an Aunt for the first time so this is perfect! Thanks for the tutorial.
Sweet! My baby needs some cool bibs!
I have a quilting friend that is having a baby soon!
I think I’ve just found something I can send to her! These bibs are just too cute!

I love those bibs, I would never think to quilt a bib or a burp cloth. I am new to quilting so there are so many great ideas here. Thanks for the giveaway.
So sweet! I don’t know why I haven’t made some of these for my daughter yet! Thanks for the tutorial links.
i love them – i’ve got my first little one coming later this summer, and this would be a great project to use up a bunch of scraps.
That is a very clever way to practice quilting. A baby can only have so many quilts, right?
I plan on making a few of these to use when my granddaughters visit! Thanks
I love rikrak’s bibs and always check out her new ones on flickr and etsy. These are adorable! I might try some to practice my free motion quilting skills. Of course, with a new baby girl arriving in 19 days, I love pink!
Such a cute bib, I love the colors!
Alisha – I just received the “Soiree” stack of Fat Quarters by Lila Tueller (Moda fabrics) and I’m swooning! They are the perfect shades of pink. Can’t wait to make the FQ Purse featured the other day. I picked up my handle and a funky leather knot to be the button. (Though, two of the oranges I won in the Sew Mama Sew give-away the other day are also calling to me …)
I have a shower next Sunday and will be using some of your tutorials for gift sewing. Thanks so much!!!
Funny, all of a sudden there are lots of baby things to be made out here…and I had a friend tell me she is having a baby in July!
Just came home with my new son from China. Great timing.

We must be on the same wavelength!! Look what I made yesterday …

Thank you for including my pacthwork bib – and it’s in such lovely company, too!
what a cute bib! that’s a really great idea! I’m a little concerned that the smooth material wouldn’t soak up the (spit-up/food/drink) so well, and end up making more of a mess in the lap or on the table – so maybe I would try a jersey or fleecy material for the front part which would be more absorbent. hmmm
A great idea. All new moms could use a couple dozen of these!
This is really sweet – and speaking of bibs: I have a bib give-away on my blog, ending tomorrow night (Danish time). The bibs are my own design.
It’s really nice idea to make a patchwork bib. It’s almost unknown in Poland.
Another great fat quarter idea. These would be so fun to give at showers in a variety of colors.
Cute bib. I recently made a bib out of flannel and embroidered the child’s name on it. It turned out cute. I need to try quilting a bib.
I have really enjoyed the “fat quarter’ projects. These have all been beautiful, as well as practical.
I love sewing bibs!! I’ve made so many and it never seems to get old!!great use for a fat quarter!
I like this tutorial for a bib at ChicKpea Sewing Studio.

oh…love making baby things!
love these!!
Very retro! I make loads of bibs. They’re great for gifts!
I was planning to make some bibs to go with baby shower gifts…I will have to try some new styles.

I have been looking for a bib tutorial. Thanks!
I lovelove rikrak’s bibs! Great project of the day.
I also found a tutorial here.

great idea!
I love lesley’s flickr page. the alexander henry fabrics for the bibs look great. simple, but cute
Cute. Just what my little one needs, bibs.
I am always looking for good shower gifts. This is perfect.
Cute bib! I downloaded the Fifties bib to try it because it is different from the others that I have made. Thanks!
I LOVE making bibs! Great fabrics too!
So cute!!! My first quilting project was a bib, not near as perfect as this one, bit it was great because it didn’t take too long, and turned out so cute!
Such a cool idea for a bib. Love all the different fabrics. I am new to quilting so this is really inspirational.
How funny. I bought a dress in NYC in a vintage store – not because of the dress, but because i LOVED the fabric (maybe even the word love is too week for my obsession with it). Guess what, it’s the brown fabric with the flowers that was being used for the bib.
I used it for the “Cute Japanese Coin Purse” that is posted on the purlbee and plan on sewing an Emmeline apron with it (in combination with orange).
I like making bibs in a softer fabric, like flanel or jersey. Than it can double as a cloth to wipe my porridge-covered baby! I recently made these: http://annema78.blogspot.com/2009/02/soft-jersey-bib.html
Another great idea… I’ve got a few fq’s that might make it into a bib.
the lemony cupcake bib in rikrak’s shop is really cute. ::drool::
I like the idea of using bibs as quilting practice. You can do that with pot holders too. They allow a bit of room for creativity that you might not dare on a whole quilt till you’ve seen the results!
thanks for the links – I hadn’t been to Jill’s to see Oscar yet! He’s a cutie!
bibs are so fun and easy to make as gifts!
Ooh, I am just putting together ideas for a gift for one of my best friend’s first baby. I will definitely add in handmade bibs. Thanks!
Ah, there are so many nice sewing projects for babies around. A shame that at the moment no one in my circle of friends is expecting any offspring any time soon =)
I love the idea of quilting these!
I agree. With everything. Cute bibs and good practice for quilting.
This bib is just adorable. Great way to both use up scraps and to have a gift on hand for when those new babies arrive. I’m going to get started on a few.
These bibs would make some stylin’ babies! They would look really cute with lots of scraps too!
I see Jodie beat me to the punch for my suggestion of the Chickpea sewing studio infant bib. I love that pattern. The fifties pattern sure is cute though. I had bibs like that for my kids who were born in the 80′s and 90′s. I hope I get lucky this week. Pink is my absolutely favorite color.
I’ve made bibs from the pattern on Nested for baby shower presents, and they were a big hit. Quick to make, too, once you’ve done one.
Everyone seems to be having boys these days, so a blue FQ pack would be perfect to make bibs for gifts!
I made a bib once, but these are so much cuter! Thanks for the tutorials. I can’t wait to take some time and make ‘em!!
Luv the 50′s Bib Tutorial. Sure would look cute made from pink Fat Quarters! LOL
Very cute! Heck….need to enlarge these for me when I go out! I can never make it thru dinner without wearing something. My hubby always laughs and says “Yup, you’re a Rivers”! lol
I love these colors! I can’t wait to make some of these for my yet-to-be-born niece/nephew!
great idea, I love the fifties style bib.
I love fat quarters & all of the projects on here. Can’t wait to have some time to sew again!
I have just recently made a couple of bibs. You can look at them here http://vanos.wordpress.com/2009/02/04/weekend-sewing/
They are also vintage patterns
This would be a great baby shower gift!
Well I made my first project with my new sewing machine. And my first quilted item
A big like rikrak’s.
