What a cute project!!!
Rachel
I love this pyramid shaped door stop! Once the weather gets warm in the midwest and we can open our windows, I will need a couple of these to keep the doors from slamming shut.
Elizabeth’s nine patch doorstop tutorial is great and easy to follow! I made one for my mother last year and would like to make this again sometime.

Adorable. I never would have thought of this.
That is so cute! Love it!
Adorable!
This is a great project for all my scraps.
What a fabulous idea, so cute!
Very cute door stop… and it only uses a fat eighth of fabric. Had to look at the tutorial to see what she used to fill it with… sand! Keep those great fat quarter projects coming!
I love it! What a fun way to use a unique fabric!
Love the pyramid shaped doorstop. Thanks for the inspiration!
Neat idea. I’ll have to try that.
Awesome idea! I’ve got to make one of these!
love all the little projects this week! Thanks for the chance to win!!
Oh, I so need one of these for my kitchen. Thanks for the inspiration!
Love the doorstop! What a great way to use up the fat quarters I have sitting around.
Where did you find the fabric? I love it! This is a very useful and simple project and I think I will throw one together today.
I love it. What a great way to show off a touch of lovely fabric….or some special orange fat quarters I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for
Cute door stop! I love the shape.
That is cute! Thank you for all these fantastic project ideas!!
now i can stop using an old glass insulator (http://www.insulators.info/photos/) to keep our laundry room door open. i hate having that thing there. what a cute alternative. thanks.
A door stop? I never would’ve thought of that!
This is a really cute doorstop.
Here’s another doorstop tutorial http://clairesmakeanddo.blogspot.com/2007/10/doorstop-tutorial.html
This looks easy enough for a beginner sewer like myself. So cute and practical too! I’ll have to try it out this weekend! Thanks!
I made a doorstop, and it’s been fabulous. I never thought I would get so much use out of a bit of fabric and beans!
adorable!!
I’m totally loving these projects of the day. Yea for fat quarter month!
what a great idea and a cute pattern- would look great for a kid’s room!
How cute! – Here in the desert we have a cooling system on our houses. We call them swap coolers – you have to vent your home for them to work properly. So we usually crack the door open with a shoe. I think for this summer, I just might have to have one of these door stops. What a great idea. Thanks
I love these daily projects!! So very cute.
Awww, both cute AND functional =D
We have a great breeze in our apartment when we open the windows, but it freaks the dog out because sometimes the doors slam shut. This is exactly what I need before spring rolls around and we start opening our windows again!
Filing this idea away for later. Love the idea. SMall and quick is my style.
Wow – so many fun projects this week! Now, where do I start?! Thanks for the tutorials and inspiration!
I have two doorstops written on my sewing to-do list. Thanks for the ideas.
Very cute and useful project! thanks for sharing! ~ Leslie
Another cute thing to make…I’m going to be busy….
Too cute!
fun! officially added to my list of things I never knew I ‘needed’ to sew!
this could definitely be put to good use in our house! between an active puppy and the gusts of wind that come through in the summertime, this would be the perfect solution to keeping the door open… as long as the dog doesn’t think it’s his new favorite toy
This is so adorable! I am so happy to have Sew Mama Sew in my life
I was looking for stash busting, easy projects for my just-learning-not-quite-nine-year-old. This is perfect and practical and will move us away from the excessive number of napkins and placemats we have developed!
That’s adorable.
What a great idea!
Cute, I have been looking for something new to make/sew for family and friends. Thanks.
i love this! I’ve been meaning to make the one out of Lotta Jansdotter’s book for ages, maybe i’ll start with this smaller one for the kids’ rooms first.
OMG. That is too cute. We could use a doorstop too. And I just bought a cute fat quarter today too.
How cute!
That will come in handy this summer to prop open the door to the pool. I have tried a can of peaches with pretty cellophane on it ( man it hurts if you kick it) and an old-fashioned wedge, but this is adorable.
What a great idea and so simple!
I love this idea. I’ve now got another project on my list.
Thanks!
Definitely cuter than a rock.
A door stop has been on my list to make forever! Thanks for reminding me and sharing a great tutorial. Love the fat quarter segment…keep up the great work!
fabulous idea and loooove the mushroom print!
This is so great! I am needing to make a doorstop for our bedroom door as it swings half shut without one. I was just thinking the shoes keeping it open weren’t very pleasing to the eye and I should try to make something! And tada! here’s a very cute tutorial. Thank you. I’ll get right on it.
This is cute! I like that it’s a smaller one, most of the door stop projects I’ve seen are quite large. Thanks!
so nice to be able to make things with fat quarters!
cute, cute, cute. I need to make this with summer coming this would help.
Love it!!! Need one… off to go sew…
I am off to make one of these today! Thank you so much for a great blog.
This would make a great littel “thank you” gift for my aunt who let me stay with her during this last ice storm.
This is a great idea! Currently, I just use whatever happens to be hanging around by the door! LOL!
I find the greatest ideas on your site!! Thanks!
That is pretty clever. Thanks for sharing.
Both tutorials are great– it’s hard to choose which one to do! My doors are pretty heavy, so maybe the 9-patch one would be better. Hmmmm. Thanks for more great inspiration.
I love how utilitarian but also cute this is.
How cool and how cute is that! I am definitely adding this to my list of “little” projects to try.

That is so cute….I love it. I need one for the back door to the garage. We are always looking for something to put there as we bring in grocery’s. Thanks for another great idea.
Thank you for the tutorial!
I made one for my daughter’s door which cannot help closing!
See mine here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/12280995@N07/3269238266/
oh darn! The doorstop tutorial isn’t available any longer. It says the blog has been removed…. it’s such a cute lil thing too! Oh well, I’m sure there will be lots more fun stuff for me to play with during the rest of the month of fat quarters.
I’m a FQholic……….last count I had over 450 of the little buggers ( I think they breed lol) and just couldn’t bear to cut into any of them… but I’m getting better… I’ve used a few this year so far and it wasn’t near as painful as I thought it would be…. plus….it makes room to buy MORE fat quarters!! woo hoo
Lish
i love the pink peony one on flickr. I think our dogs and our toddler would just pick them up and carry them off somewhere though. lol.
Oh no! The tutorial is gone…. I’m pretty sure I can figure it out, but what do you fill it with? Sand?
Thanks for all the great projects!!
I love this idea! I just wanted to let you know that I’ve linked to your idea on my blog, Create Studio! Thanks for the inspiration!

Why has the tutorial for the pyramid door stop been disabled? Is there any way I can get this tutorial?
Oh no, the tutorial is no longer available. Does anyone happen to have the dimensions to the triangle and the square base?
The blog was removed because Rachael was tragically affected by the Bushfires in Australia recently. I had a copy of the tutorial and have temporarily posted a copy on my blog. I will of course remove it as and when she reposts it. My thoughts are with her and her family at this time.
