When I recently repainted a bedroom, the walls were bare again. Covered an artist’s canvas with batik fish print in shades of blue that coordinated with the new wall color. Instant art.
I love that! I am thinking of totally re-doing our master bedroom in new fabrics, but I have been stumped to find art that will go with the new decor. This is a perfect solution!
I’m off to the 2nd hand store right now to find a frame! Thanks for the great FQ ideas!!!

Fabric bulletin board is a great idea! I think one would look great in my craftroom or even kitchen so many projects I want to do so little time.

I love the fabric hoop bulletin boards shown on kelee81′s flicker site. They are really cute! Are they just stretched fabric or is something else put in the hoops first so you can push thumbtacks in?

I would have died for the orange pack, but I sure won’t complain about blue either. I can’t wait to try out more of the projects you guys post that can use these FQ. If I don’t win I may have to eventually go out to buy some.

I really like that they are kind of a classy take on bulletin boards. The yellow in the white frame was my favorite. I also like the picture with several line up together…very neat.

Great idea. I recently wrote an article about how to do make a bulletin board with a stray quilt block- but I love the idea of just letting the fabric speak for itself- especially as a framed piece of art.

I have a bulletin board I’m keeping my eyes open for fabric to cover. A fat quarter won’t do it since its huge.

I just made a memory board using a single FQ and some ribbon, rick rack, and buttons for a challenge and it turned out so cute and very usful too.

Very nice – i have some fabric that i just cannot cut into b/c i love it so much – this would be the perfect project for that!

The embroidery hoops b.b. are so cute but I was wondering the same thing as Kim, in the last post. Do they have a cork backing?
This would also be cute using a few small frames, especially using several fabrics in the same line or colorway.
What a fabulous idea! I like the idea of backing it with cork… could be used as a family message board.
Hmmm… Garage Sale season will be starting up in a few months, I’ll have to start a list, and get ready to hit them, looking for old picture frames.

That’s a neat idea, I had been thinking of looking for a magnetic chalkboard type thing, but something along these lines might look a little nicer.
After years of trying to find wall art, we finally hung up three pieces of fabric in matching frames. Now we have one less bare wall! Thanks for the bulletin board idea! It has so many possibilities!

Great idea! I’m thinking I might cover my magnetic board with fabric (taped on the back to secure it). Since I use magnets, the fabric will still be usable when I decide to replace it with something new. Thanks for the inspiration!

I love this idea. I used one of your other tutorials to make a hanging for my kitchen (to match the curtains I made, also using one of your tutorials!), and it’s amazing how much it brightens things up. It’s a trick I’m sure I will use again and again. Thanks for the great ideas!

I love those fabric bulletin boards; I once made one for a friend and covered the board in quilt batting and hammered some cute shrinky-dink pins into it which gave it a nice dimensional look. Thanks for all those inspirations!
I’ve been thinking about hanging fabric on my walls at home as they are so bare and empty it’s embarrassing. Maybe this post will get me moving on that…

I think I’m going to have to do this with our oh so boring cork board in the kitchen!
I’m thinking of doing this with a bit of fabric from my first Home Ec sewing project — an apron, of course, in the ever-popular 60s color combination of blue and green. And I think I went to a material store to buy the fabric!!
This is a great idea! I also think it would be cute to stretch some ribbons across before framing, so you can slip in things that you wouldn’t want to harm with a pushpin…

The bulletin board project is a great idea, there are some great fabrics that would look very nice framed up.
