I'm always in a strange intermediate stage of sewing (knowing how to do some things fairly expertly, and other easier things not at all!), so it's great to have resources like this to help. Wish it had been around the time I tried to clean black fuzz from a strip of feather trim out of my machine! Totally gross. Wonderful post. My machine's tension has been off and I couldn't correct it. I decided to clean out the lint (which has never been done on the 10 year old machine) and now it works great! tension issue fixed!
