Free Fabric Friday + Announcements
Site Downtime
First, we want to let you know that we’re upgrading our server this weekend and may experience some downtime. If you stop by and the site is unavailable, please check back soon. We really shouldn’t be offline too much. Thanks in advance for your patience. (And don’t worry–we’ll still be posting our Scrap Buster ideas every day.)
New Products
We’ve been receiving tons of wonderful new fabric!

First, we have this awesome collection, Happy Campers, by Sandy Klop of American Jane. The colors in this group absolutely remind me of my childhood wardrobe in the ’70s. There is a great print that is actually 4 designs in one. The image below shows it opened up, selvage to selvage. See the cute border in between each design? You have to add this one to your stash! It also comes in brown and red.

We’re also thrilled to have My Happy Garden in stock. This is our first 100% organic cotton collection and I’m sure we’ll see more. Super cute, nice hand, great color.

The new group by Momo, Odyssea, just arrived. I love all the blues in this collection.

Finally, we received a variety of stunning prints from the Kaffe Collective (Kaffe Fassett, Brandon Mably and Phillip Jacobs.) Some of these just take my breath away. We’ve carried these designers in the shop off and on over the years, and finally decided to give them a permanent space on our shelves. Look for lots more from The Collective in the coming weeks and months.

Wouldn’t you agree that we have a little something for everyone?

LOVE Love the camping fabric!
My WIP consists of undies, bags, wallets and rice boo boo bags. Umm we’ll hope that I can get it all done, i have lots of goals for the holiday season!
I am working in a pillow cover right now. I think I am going to finish by tomorrow.
Great fabrics! Thanks for the pics.
love, love, love! they’re all so darn cute.
let’s see… my wip’s:
fairy costume for my girl
some pillows and crowns for my shop,
lavender sachets (hey – good scrap-buster!) for the closets
and in my mental wip’s:
duvet cover for my boy
a quilt for whoever has cold toes — pattern still undecided!
Oh my, there are almost too many WIP’s to name….a Christmas apron, a baby quilt, a Christmas wall hanging, a quillow, to name just a few!
I love both the Happy Campers and the My Happy Garden. I’m looking for fabric for our new nursery and My Happy Garden may be the perfect thing.
An Ohio star quilt!
Love the website, this is helping me organize, pare down, the overwhelming stash.
This time of year I always start a baby quilt to donate to a local chilcrens hospital for the holidays, thats my WIP.
I’m a beginner, so my current WIP pile includes just a tote bag and a pin cushion! pincushion almost done!
I’ve got a partially completed fabric basket I’m aiming to finish for Halloween…
* Hemming pants for me
* Sewing a waistcoat and frockcoat for my husband, out of color-shift taffeta
* A baby quilt for my daughter (she’ll be 5 this month!)
* Sewing a purse onto a knitted form as part of a knitting design I’m making
* A Christmas dress for my daughter
* A bowling shirt for my son, in space fabrics
I am making little baby booties for my wonderful friends who have recently had babies. I am so proud of them and the amazing mothers they are!
I love all of these scrap projects. I am currently working on a cute little spider dress for my 5 month old granddaughter. I have about 10 projects going at once right now, but with Halloween coming quickly I had better get going!
Wow, gorgeous! I wish I could go to houston!
Right now, I am redoing my baby’s room, so I should… be making curtains and a dust ruffle to start!
Christmas gifts are on the docket starting this week (some dolls for my children are up first), as well as some flannel pajama pants for my son now that the weather is turning cool.
What a wonderful choice of fabric!
It is quite hard to choose the one I prefer. Maybe the one with the alphabet?
I’m currently making my Christmas decorations. I’m making heart shaped decorations at the moment, out of red fabric with little holly sprigs all over it. I’m making a full tree’s worth of fabric decorations so that my 18 month old son can’t break them!!!
My WIP pile includes my daughter’s Rainbow Brite costume, scrap letter baby blocks for a baby shower, scrap appliqued name pillows for several children’s Christmas gifts, and a knitted hat for my husband (because there is a rumor that winter is a-coming). I think that’s everything.
Thanks for having this contest, it makes my Fridays a liitle better.
I love this month’s theme, scrap buster. I’ve got a bunch of scraps and the pile just seems to grow.
I am presently sewing throw pillows for myself and my daughter. She can sew, but since getting married and having 3 kids, she asks me to make things for her!
I am also knitting a sweater for my granddaughter and working on embroidery for a future quilt.
My current wip pile – I am in the middle of a “learn to quilt” course and need to get my blocks done so I can learn how to “square them up” etc etc! My other wip is altering men’s jockey shorts so that my dad can hook his nephrostomy bags to them without having to tape them to his legs….!
JoAnn
Exciting fabrics!
I am currently working on a quilt that is taking an embarrassingly long amount of time. It will be lap-size, to reside on my couch and perfectly coordinates with everything there–green and brown.
I’m currently finishing up some bags, late quilting bee blocks, and a very late birthday quilt for a girl who is too young to ever remember how late it will be!
Hmmm. I have a huge WIP pile. About 5 or 6 six different quilts, and probably a dozen garments, but I need to work on Halloween costumes next.
My WIP pile is growing. I have a lot of projects on the go for a craft fair I’m entering on the 24th. So there are dolls, pillows, pincushions and more all awaiting the final touches.
Plus some stuff just for me – a jacket and a skirt.
Lorrie
Currently working on a 1st birthday outfit for my little guy…an appliqued onesie with matching pants and hat. I’ll post a pic on my blog when I’m finished!
I have a half-finsished apron in my WIP pile, that needs to be comppleted prior to Christmas! Thank you for this opportunity!
Oh goodness… that Happy Camper collection is sooooo cute!
My WIP includes 4 sewing kits for Christmas, one doll, a baby sling, a few ribbon blankets and toys, 3 Christmas stockings and a tree skirt. Sound doable?
I’m working on a quilt out of the Darla Collection by Tanya Whelan. I can’t wait to finish it!
I’m working on a fall table runner that has Christmas fabrics on the reverse. That party dress fabric looks beautiful.
I love that green Happy Campers and the My Happy Garden! Great new stuff.
I just finished up a twin-size robot quilt for my son, and I’m now pulling together my Summer Soiree for a snowball quilt.
this weekend I’ll work on my roommate’s graduation present – a quilt with fabrics she picked. my WIP pile is about a mile high, though…
My current WIP are baby quilts for the 5 babies of friends due within 2 weeks of each other…2 done, 3 in progress!!
My WIP has a cathedral window quilt, a shirt, halloween costume, mini zip pouch, and sachets for christmas!
I have 3 WIPs to finish before Christmas. A table runner for my mom, Amy Butler birdie sling for my sister and quilt for my dad made from hollow cube blocks.
I am working on finishing my daughter’s halloween costume. She is 19mos old and loves “FIFI and the Flowertots” on Sprout. (www.fifiandtheflowertots.com) She will be FIFI! And I am making a little bee trick or treat bag to go with it
My WIP pile currently are Bibs! I’m using scraps for them! I should probably enter that into the contest, huh!?
Current works-in-progress: a quilt for my daughter’s 1st birthday, a baby skirt, several wool diaper covers from sweater sleeves, and a big to-do list of Christmas presents. Oh, and clean out my sewing area so I can actually accomplish all this!
I have so many uncompleted projects! Working on hexes for a quilt out of Wonderland by Momo.
My current WIP is a small witch costume! I, have about 3 other things sitting on the sidelines waiting for the costume to be finished!
My WIP’s include a circle skirt for my daughter, some pants to lengthen, another skirt for my daughter and a couple of Halloween costumes. I’m hoping to clear out this pile over the long weekend.
Can’t wait to see the “Party Dress” fabrics when they come out — very sweet prints. The WIP pile should be plural — piles! Too many to list, but I have a nine-patch quilt along project that I abandoned and need to get back to. But my biggest ongoing project is a Dear Jane quilt that I never seem to have time to work on. If only I didn’t have to work for a living — I’d have so many more hours to sew…
I’m working on the color wheel quilt from Last Minute Quilted Gifts. The wheel is done, I just have to get the background fabric! I also have another quilt that will officially start my Christmas present making this year…the fabric is all there, I just have to cut it.
I have many works in progress, but the most pressing is a wiki mop. It’s a terry cloth backed fabric “sandal” that you leave on the kitchen floor to mop up spills. My mom has requested a Christmas one!
I have a few dress summer tops yeah I know summer is over but I need to get busy! Plus I need to finish my friends maternity skirt.
WIP is on hold temporarily. When I get back in the groove, there will probably be little girl dresses, a dress for myself, quilts, etc.
1 a new quilt design half finished in Moda Pumpkin & spice
2 more of my Nantucket bags, cut & ready to sew
3 potluck bags for church
4 memory type quilt for Presbyterian Women
lots of other things planned, but these are started!
I have a dress for myself, double-sided napkins and a purse and a apron for a gift, and a skirt for each of my children. Whew!
making a little girl’s purse for a 2yr old’s birthday. later I have a bunting and a few boys ‘adventure bags’ to make. fun fun!
geez.. what is NOT in my WIP pile?… 2 bags, 1 queen sized quilt, 1 Christmas table runner, 1 christmas tree skirt, 1 Christmas card holder… I should win for such a BIG wip pile LOL! Love your blog!
Melissa
I’m about halfway done with my Stacked Coins quilt top (tutorial by Amandajean for MBS)! It’s my first quilt, so it will probably be a WIP for a while! Happy Friday!
Work in progress… Christmas ornaments to be given as gifts. And baby burp cloths also to be given as gifts.
Currently I have 3 finished quilt tops and 4 log Cabin blocks I intend to turn into pillows. I must force myself not to start any new projects before I finish these…but no promises!
This weekend’s WIP is a cute cafe curtain for my kitchen, and some form of more elaborate curtain for the bathroom
I have several, but I have to wait, because I had a baby! I have fabric ready and waiting for the Advent Calendar, a moby wrap so I can wear the baby, I have several blocks finished for a string quilt (which is a great scrap project) and I also have a quilt top I need to sandwich and quilt. Whew!
We’re making headbands for a 10-year-old’s birthday gift.
I am brand new to sewing and my WIP pile is already very large! Easy things like a pencil roll for a child’s birthday, burp cloths for friends new babes, totes for my own little children and hopefully a few cute skirts for mama too. I love yousite and appreciate all the tutorials and beautiful projects and material.
I need to finish up some bibs for a baby shower. I’m just starting on a shirt for my husband. And I’m still working on the Christmas tree skirt I started last year.
my current WIP in my very first quilt! i’m planning to do a mini pin wheel quilt with the 2 charm packs I just bought from your store! I also just upgraded to a new sewing machine last night (the old one broke) and I can’t wait to finish work, get home, and work on it all weekend!
I am new to quilting.
Addicted does not begin to describe how in love I am with my latest hobbie.
New fabric for Free would work for me.
Thanks
An alphabet quilt that I have 5 out of 26 blocks done….. This one will take me awhile. A half finished Hug-a-war quilt for my sister. I’m also working on a knitted shawl and some socks on my needles. There is something for every mood ready to be worked on at my place.
I have a few projects I’m working on. But my favorite is the maple leaf placemats I’m making. They are paper pieced and are beautiful for the fall season.
I’m making a patchwork scarf from T- Shirts. I have already cut them, now I only need to sew them together. Give me this weekend and it’ll be finished.
Um, my WIP pile? It’s overflowing! I have….
A Christmas quilt using Moda’s Winter Song fabric
A pinwheel quilt using Moda’s Snippets fabric
My SIL’s quilt to add a border onto using Moda’s 1974 fabric

I’ve got a baby quilt and a table runner in progress–also a larger quilt, but I didn’t think I could finish it for Christmas so it is temporarily being replaced by the runner!
Working a bunch of pillows and planning my first ever person sized quilted project!

My WIP’s are my kids’ halloween costumes, making some skirts from dresses and also some pajamas for the kids!!

Right now my WIP box is holding tons of unfinished goodies. 3 halloween costumes for the kiddos, training bras, a lavendar and yellow shirt for me, a pair of baby booties…..I guess I should stop starting new projects and finish what I have, as that was only a sampling of all that’s in there!
Works in progress: two little doctor outfits for my girls halloween costumes!
a purple silk regency era corset!
Those new fabrics are so beautiful!
Jenny
Works in progress: Amy Butler Frenchy bag — trying the smaller bag size — fabrics are a little bear print (Japanese fabric — got a couple of years ago) and a solid green chenille for the body — and some circly blues + greens inside. I may do the long handles on the smaller bag — I’m an over-the-shoulder kinda gal. Also in progress is a new curtain for our patio door, using black/botanical vases fabric bought 4 years ago for this project. (Nothing like jumping right on to the project.) The big deal on this project is cutting up a white cotton + lace tablecloth (banquet-table size) for a large ‘cuff’ coming over the top of the curtain. I’m hoping it looks as great as I see it in my mind’s eye.
Stylish Fabric! Currently, I’m smocking a bishop dress for my 4 year old. It’s black and white gingham with black scottie dogs. Each scottie dog has a little red bow around his neck.
I love the camping fabric. Reminds me of my childhood. My current work in progress is making hot pads out of scrap fabrics.
I am so feeling the love for that camping fabric!!
I am currently upcycling a pile of old sheets into grocery bags, working little tiny scraps into quilt blocks using dryer sheets and mending mountains of torn or worn kids clothing.
it seems my wip pile is growing and growing! i have a skirt, a car seat cover, a baby sling, and the thought of some quiet books….whew!
My WIP is a scrap quilt, a quilted tree skirt, and a scrap bib for my little girl…..My WIP never seems to stop growing!
I’m currently working on a denim patchwork quilt!
I have a few quilts on my to-do pile, and seeing as today is a miserable rainy grey skied day, I think today might be a great time to work on them!
I’m currently working on a baby quilt for our little one due around thanksgiving.
I am working on the heather bailey happy stacker right now, I have a couple pair of pj’s for my baby and some quilts for christmas…always something….always fun!!
WIP Pile: One Flannel Nightgown for daughter. I cut two on Tuesday, sewed one all the way Wednesday and did about 1/4 of the sewing of this one.
I have two twin sized quilts for my daughters in my WIP pile that I’m trying to convince myself to finish before I start fabric shopping for our new baby (I get to buy boy fabric for the first time!).
My WIP’s list includes several baby quilts for new babies at church as well as comfort quilts for some individuals at church who are going through rough times.
My WIP….restocking my little shop with birthday banners, kiddie aprons and mitts, felt goods, dolly quilts…sewing the nights away. =)
at the top of my WIP is curtains! the lights from the parking lot at night and the sun during the day come in my window WAY TOO MUCH!
My WIP is a baby quilt done in Zig Zag from the Quilt Along we did on Flickr. All I have left is to hand stitch the binding! If I would get off this computer I could have it done in no time at all! lol
Our work in progress pile includes six quilts – one for each my daughters. They chose the fabric they wanted and now we need to get started sewing!
My WIP is a Max costume from Where the Wild things are (specifically the wolf hood) and some trick or treat totes : )

Currently working on some placemats.

I have a baby quilt in progress. I am anxious to start on a new one with all of the lovely new fabric avail. I really, really love the new Momo fabric!
Your new fabric always inspires me to start a new project…but I shouldn’t try anything new right now since my WIP pile is currently piled high with two outfits for my daughter, lots of mending, a quilt, and a pair of pajama pants for me (that I didn’t get to finish in September…)! It can’t ever hurt to add new fabric for the future, though…
I just need to finish a few napkins to use up scraps from a Fall table quilt. Next up is a cordory jacket!
Blessing,
KT
Oh how I love every single one of those prints. In progress is a birthday banner, a birthday crown and birthday pj’s. Notice a trend?
Well, I have lots of things in the WIP pile, but NOT my “Whooooo Loves You” baby rag quilt…just finished it last night! =)

Elizabeth’s charm square baby quilt.
My WIP includes the pajamas I never finished from the pajama party sew along (oops!), a skirt from the brand new Pink Fig NieNie pattern, and tshirt that needs an applique.
My WIP includes an apron, several quilts and hemming some curtains!
That camping fabric is so cool! I saw it yesterday but no way could I tell how many patterns there were from the image–you should add that image to the description in store. My WIP(s) are a dress for my sewing class and curtains for the kitchen, hopefully finishing one of those this weekend.
I’ve agreed to do my first stall at a fair. AM kind of wishing I hadn’t too much to sew too little time. I can’t decide what to make either. So far we’re planning bibs, baby change mats, diaper clutch, christmas stockings, crayon rolls……. the list goes on!
Oh and I was lucky enough to win some happy garden fabric and it is fantastic – totally in love with it!
Wow, that camping fabric is GREAT! My WIP is very unexciting – need to re-hem all of my little girl’s school uniforms this weekend.
I’m making fabric owls for fall decorations and avoiding the *huge* pile of adjustments/darning/patching and just general “needs-fixing” stuff…!
Love the new fabrics!

I’m working on a reversible bag for my friend’s birthday. One side has a psychedelic design and the other has trees. It’s called “Getting High in Nature.”
WIP pile includes: a quilt… and a ton of other things to start such as: a skirt, a couple dresses for baby, a shirt, and a birthday present… I’m thinking an apron. A friend recently unloaded some fabric onto me, which is great! However, it also piles up my to-do list and fills up the fabric storage space and so therefore I must sew.
Well, my WIP pile just got bigger, because I was told that the girl baby I just finished a quilt top for is actually a “they don’t know yet” baby. Unisex, here I come!
I am working on a Max costume from “Where the Wild Things” are for Halloween, 2 baby quilts, bird and whale scrap ornaments for my Christmas tree, a dress, and I am working through the projects in “Weekend Sewing” by Heather Ross. I love that girl, and her prints. Please order more!
Since we have moved I have a huge WIP list, but I guess the most haunting is a shirt I started for my husband in June and just sits. Then there are the four quilts that need finishing or starting…;0p
I’m working on hand puppets right now.
Hmm… my work in progress pile is huge so I’ll make this list manageable! A nine-patch quilt, a quilt made from fabric cut from men’s striped shirts, two fun hand-embroidered pieces of linen waiting to be made into totebags, and a dress for my daughter that needs hemming.
Some handbags and baby clothes. The onesie dress looks like something I’m going to try.

I just finished some cute bags and my first quilt and my WIP is a table runner started in March. I finally have the right backing for it!

http://www.flickr.com/photos/valentinewestphal/sets/72157605179952166/
My number one priority this weekend is to add the binding to my first completed quilt. I can’t wait to snuggle under it during one of these chilly fall days.
A major project in my WIP pile is my Dear Jane quilt. Thanks for the chance.
I am sewing quilt bags. Lovely new fabrics… If I only had more time and money….

quilt for my husband for Christmas
placemats for my mother-in-law
a tote bag for me
curling iron/straightening iron travel bags for two friends
AB snuggie wrap blanket for a coworker who’s due at Thanksgiving

My work in progress is repairing an old cheater-quilt my mom and I made in 1975!

I’ve just finished my disappearing 9-patch Quilt and I’m so happy to be ready. In my WIP pile are 2 other Quilts, one with square blocks red/black/grey flowers and stripes in red and grey and black between. And the other I will sew is a snowball quilt in red and white. Further WIP is a double wedding ring table runner for my partents-in-law’s 50th wedding day (golden wedding-is it the same in english?). It will happen on Christmas Eve, so enough time for me to finih it.
Regards Gabi
What isn’t in my WIP pile? Ha! The biggest thing is a quilt for my daughter.
My WIP consists of a doll quilt for my daughters second birthday using the SMS tutorial
, a bag of some sort for my sister and a tote for my son’s kindergarden teacher.
I am finishing up a birthday crown for my little girl. After this I would finally to keep on working on a New York Beauty Quilt that I started three years ago with paper piecing and is sitting in a box since ever.
I mostly have a bunch of different quilts in my WIP pile. I’m planning on finishing up my husband’s new t-shirt quilt this weekend!
So many WIPs – playhouse, chicken, halloween costumes. And that’s for October. I feel foolish. Thanks for all the great sewing lessons here.
My mind is reeling thinking about what I could make.
My actual WIP’s include banners with my kids’ names and some stuffed animal for friends’ babies. I have a bunch of other projects that I wish could make it to the WIP category – soon, I hope. (And also – does a pile of pants that need to be patched count as work in progress?)
Well I have over 100 UFO’s waiting BUT right now I’m working on journal covers.
Skirts for my daughter and some refashioning I am pondering: a dress for me and making some ts and sweaters into dresses for my girl. Love these fabrics!
Love the new fabrics! My WIP pile includes 2 aprons (1 kid, 1 adult), a summer top (was supposed to be for this summer, but will have to be for next summer), a summer dress, 2 fall table runners,3 pairs of jeans to shorten, a pair of pj pants to nip in at the waist, a shirt to mend, napkins and couch cushion covers that were started a long time ago (at least a year!). I have a list of projects that need to be started and finished by the end of the month and I need to start my Christmas sewing – yikes!
My WIP pile is overloaded. I am trying to get a nursing cover finished as well as a molly monkey and some great backpacks. I am getting tired just thinking about it. I want to get them finished soon, my little baby girl is due next month.
The fabrics are wonderful. My wip are some darling little cupcake purses. Really fun to make and fun to pick the fabric for. Really, what I should be doing is cleaning my work space. It is so cluttered! Maybe after the little purses……
my current WIPs: two lady bug costumes for my twin girls and Oh Fransson’s advent calendar.
I have so so many birthday and Christmas present ideas buzzing in my head right now that my hands can’t move fast enough. But the only things actually in progress are a birthday crown for my 2 year old daughter and a coulple of knitted hats for new babies.
Love the American Jane fabric. When I started sewing again about a 1 1/2 years ago, it was the first fabric I purchased! Now my stash is out of control and I love it!! Hope I win!!
I have to say that I am crazy excited about the Party Dress fabric! How beautiful! Waiting for that will be hard.
I’m working on a lap quilt for a friend…using up lots of scraps in honor of scrap month. But have lots more and am enjoying all the suggestions.
PS Any chance we could get a tutorial on the flower “garland” by Allsorts featured earlier in the month? The flowers were fun, now I’d like to try the whole garland.
I have 2 felt broaches to embroider, 1 embroidered tea towel to finish, a pillowcase dress that just needs the arm hole finished, and I plan to add to that list a taggie ball for dd once I figure out the fabric combination.
Ooo, I am in LOVE with the new fassett collective lines that are out!
my WIP includes…a wall hanging. hopefully will finish that soon and then onto a pair of pajamas!
I want to win and I love all the fabric. In my WIP pile, I have a pencil skirt that just needs to be hemmed and also a cardigan that I am knitting.
These are lovely!
I’m about to start a skirt for my daughter. I just finished a small handbag a few days ago.
A Christmas lap quilt…almost ready for the backing, binding, and quilting.
WIP is diapers for my sister’s twins, and a diaper bag for my friend. Both are fun
I don’t have too much in my WIP pile at the moment. Just a drawstring bag I never finished. Of course I need to start my Christmas sewing soon so I’ll probably have a lot in the next few weeks!
i just started sewing, so my WIP are the following: a lovely simple skirt for my almost 4 year old and bags for produce while i’m shopping (using old sheets for these!)
Oh, your fabric swatches make me want to get down to some serious sewing so I can buy more fabric! My WIP include a big quilt top that’s almost done, some napkins to use up some linen I have, and I’m going to attempt to make some tiny coin purses using some little brass purse frames I picked up. Not sure how those will come out…
Is it a WIP if it’s mostly in my mind? Hehe, not counting those mental projects I’m working on little Christmas gifts – plastic bag holders mostly.
On my to-do list is:
- make ruffled pillows
- grocery bags
- ring bearer pillow for my cousin’s wedding
Right now I’m working on curtains for the bathroom and the kids’ rooms as well as a few outfits and a pirate costume for Halloween!
I am currently working on an hourglass block quilt, made with Amy Butler fabrics in the blue Daisy Chain colorway and white cotton. I need to finish it before the cold weather comes!
My current WIPS are a string quilt in jewel tones, my first commissioned baby quilt, and my fist zig zag quilt. Of course I need to win the yard of fabric to create more WIPS
.
I am loving the Happy Campers Collection… so cute. I am currently finishing up my strip quilt for the Quilt Along over at the Old Red Barn. Yes, I am just a little behind.
I’m currently working on a scrappy quilt for a childhood friend of mine who had her first child not too long ago. :~)
I am in love with the camping fabric!
My current WIP…
a clown for my mom, bubble romper for niece, jammies for cousin’s kids, and a purse for me.
I have got to quit adding new stuff to my list before I finish old projects. lol
I am currently prepping to move my sewing/craft area from the dining room to a room in the basement so I can really spread out on big tables lol. I am making blue Christmas dresses for my 2 year old triplet girls, also making them some pink fleece coats with a sherpa/suede collar and cuffs, just cleaned out and switched clothes for the seasons and have a huge pile of upcycling to do, I add ruffles to pants to make them longer or make them into skirts, I added some knit onto some of my 5 yr old sons tees that were too short, I also have a bunch of Christmas gifts and felt food to crank out but haven’t even started yet. I try to plan and sew ahead but somehow I’m always behind! I would love to win some fabric
Could I win please? I would need a yard of cute fabric for my WIPs… bags, aprons, and sewing boards.
SOOO many WIPs! (Or is it WsIP?? Hee hee…)

)

I’m quite busy! Thanks for the chance to win!
I’m working on a “Happy Birthday” banner and a tote for my daughter.
I have just started on our Halloween costumes. One down, 3 to go. We are all dressing up this year so there will be a lot of sewing.
I currently have two almost identical Bethlehem Star quilts in my WIP pile. They are for my daughter and her boyfriend and my son and his wife. Since I don’t live near a fabric store or quilt shop, I am waiting for them to send fabric to complete the quilts. I really hope they get it to me soon.
Oh, I want to win something. I am working on anything and everything I can sew for a friend’s baby shower next weekend.
I have a Halloween quilt top started — if only I could actually get it done and quilted in time for Halloween!!!
Oh gosh, do I have a WIP pile! LOL! The one big thing that I have that I really, really should get working on, is my daughters wool sleepsack…it’s getting cold over here already!
Halloween costumes are in progress right now– one Laura Ingalls pioneer dress/pinafore and one Luke Skywalker.
Working on a crib bumper and matching basket liner for my son, crayon skirt for my daughter, and a reusable shopping bag for Grandma’s birthday.
Just finished an itty-bitty bag for my little cousin. Like his big sibs’ bags–such a big kid
Also, still plugging away at a quirky memory-type quilt for my not-so-little sister.
I love those new fabrics!
My WIP includes some onesies that are needing some appliques, some felt, beads, and feathers to make birdie buttons, and of course some half-finished curtains! So much to do, so little time!
pajamas for the kids, a tote bag and a myriad of crochet hats and scarves for Christmas. I need to get really busy!
I have several pieces of clothes for my daughter that I bought second-hand and need to alter to fit her properly.
My WIP pile is constantly growing. I’ve got two queen-sized quilts in progress, a remake of an old button-down shirt, burp cloths, a baby blanket/quilt, baby bibs, grocery bags, a pettiskirt/tutu, a fabric necklace and a fabric dollhouse.
I’m finishing up a quilt that uses Tula Pink Neptune and I’m starting a small lap quilt for my daughter using scraps and the paper piecing technique described in The Sometimes Crafters Blog. I’m excited about the Party Dress and my Happy Garden lines!
What isn’t in my WIP pile? The Perpetually-in-Progress Cars quilt, a pink Dallas Cowboys baby quilt, Christmas jammies for my nieces and nephew, two baby quilts for my second cousins, and a quilt of Cinderella Castle.
Love the new fabrics! My WIP pile keeps getting bigger.
Right now:
applique for a pj shirt for my 5 year old son (just finished the pants)
Longalls for my 1 year old son for pictures next weekend
2 hanging car organizers for the backseat
1 box-like car organizer for the space between the 2 car seats
a dress for my great-niece
a stroller quilt for my youngest son
and I really, really want to make the new Amy Butler pattern “the Liverpool” for myself!
LOVE the new fabric. Currently, I am creating kid pants w/ knee pads using old t-shirts for material. They are adorable and super cozy!!
Well, I have one quilt ready to be basted, and I need to get on it tomorrow; it needs to be finished in a couple of weeks. But – a friend had her baby a month early, so another quilt top is in the works. AND I need to try my hand at a onesie dress after spying one of this week’s tutorials. So much to do! I really should step away from the computer….
Let’s see, a summer dress and tunic (whoops, it’s October in Northern Michigan, which means that will probably wait until spring), a baby quilt and I need to finish quilting a queen size quilt I started for my bro.
I’ve got a crochet hook and knitting needle holder in the queue right now. And with Christmas just a couple of months away, I’ll be starting on some napkins, my first quilt and a couple of skirts. I need to get started!
Those fabrics are so cute! My work in progress is a scarf swag that I am making for the living room curtains. It was a swag for one window and I am converting it by adding fabric to make it stretch over two windows.
My WIP is my first project EVER, a cart cover. Although I have one already, my sister’s beautiful hand-me-down, I thought it would be extra special if I made my Olivia one myself. Already have her Halloween pattern waiting to be started on this weekend, then, her Christening Dress (pattern already purchased as well). Some way to start sewing huh lol. Thank you to my Mother-In-Law for holding my hand w/ her expertise.
WIP’s: denim quilt (perpetually on the to-finish list) and a towel dispenser from previous post (http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/?p=1283).
or a chance be one of 5 winners of one free yard of fabric, comment here and tell us about what is currently in your WIP (work-in-progress) pile.
Nothing – Which is a RARE thing! I’m on the moment of anticipation – waiting to decide what next to make!
2 flowergirl dresses for a wedding next weekend!
I’m working on baby things! Simple bibs and burping cloths, and a very cool diaper bag.
My WIP includes pants for the boy, shirts for me and finishing up a baby quilt for a friend. And Christmas sewing … I hear that’s coming up. How I would LOVE to win fabric.
I’m currently working on a Trick or Treat Bag for my daughter.
I have so many projects going on right now- sewing and otherwise! I’m a fairly new sewer but have become instantly addicted! I’m making a skirt for myself and some reusable gift bags for the coming holidays.
I have so many WIPs it’s insane…A cathedral windows quilt that might take until 2020, a double wedding ring, a log cabin, and lots of little zakka projects just waiting for the finishing touches.
Right now I have a Halloween quilt, several Christmas quilts, and various other quilts ready to be quilted….all have been put aside to make Baby clothes for my first Grand child…a girl…due on Valentine’s day. I have one corner of my quilt room filled with quilting UFO’s and now a huge pile of children’s fabrics and patterns that we are busily cutting and sewing.
Ohhh. I have too many WIP’s. A couple of quilts, pajama pants (yep, still working on those), curtains, and an advent calendar. Just not enough time in the day!
At the moment I’ve got to sew the button and loop closure onto a felt cuff, which I’ve been putting off for some reason. I also need to wash the white pillowcases I just bought to embroider for my sister and her new husband’s Christmas present. Just mending, other than that!
I am making a wine bottle bag with yo-yos sewn all around. The color scheme will be blacks & whites.
My wi(slow)p is a plain-spoken-ish bed quilt for the itty-bitty one, which I hope to finish before she turns 1, at the stroke of midnight, new-year’s eve. Or I’ll turn into a pumpkin!
Love the fabrics, especially the four-in-one.

Love the new Sandy Klop line. Workin on a baby quilt from charms from the Recess and Wee Play lines.
I do like the My Happy Garden Fabric – I saw it on here the other day in a smaller swatch and now I understand what it all is!
Let’s see, my WIP list is dwindling (thankfully!) – now we’re down to:
Hemming my new pants
Totebag for godson
Totebag for niece
quilt for niece for Christmas (it will be my first quilt!)
Christmas shirt appliques
My WIPs are cross stitched coasters and bookmarks, snack bags, tote bags, and knitting a felted bag. I’m trying to make all my xmas gifts this year, but my 4th month old seems to have other plans.
I am almost done with the Charming Handbag from Bend the Rules Sewing. I made it with Far Far Away fabrics I bought in your store (and I LOVE by the way). I’m thinking about making a crochet roll that I saw on this site during fat quarter month.
my WIP is a laptop cozy for my brother’s birthday, instead of buying batting for the cushy inside, i went to the thrift store and bought an old fleece jacket to use. and i have to sew boyscout patches onto my friend’s son’s sash.
I am binding a baby quilt and making some purses for Christmas presents. Hopefully if I start them now I’ll get them done by then.

Oh and christmas dress for my little girl.
I’m working on a Circle quilt for my nephew to-be (due in December!). It’s coming along slowly but surely…circles are hard!!
my wip is the quilt topper for a family member and then i have two shirts for myself. Couldn’t pass up $2/yd material sale. I also just finished 6 pairs of pj pants for my boys who seem to outgrow all their pants…can you say double cuff??
Ha! in my WIP pile… let’s see… scrappy log cabin blocks…Gail Pan BOM… some clothing… you name it, I got it going!
My wip pile has a baby quilt for my cousin’s baby, a denim quilt for my daughter, and two curtain tiebacks that I just cannot decide if I like them enough to sew rings on them or not. I finished my purse yesterday, so now I feel like my wip load is lighter!
wow what a fabulous collection of fabric!
I am in heavy denial about Halloween, so instead of making costumes, I am working on a blouse for my 8 year old and a jumper for my baby – both with lace I made myself!
I’m currently finishing up a quilt and working on creating a pattern for a T-shirt bib for my daughter. We received one as a gift and she’s outgrowing it, but I love it, so I’m trying to recreate it.
Now that it’s getting cold, my cheater quilt made with Denyse Schmidt’s Patchwork Promenade has risen to the top of my “must finish” pile!
I’m working on a rail fence quilt with a Hello Betty Honey Bun and Jelly Roll.
My WIP pile is kicking my butt! I’ve got 3 pairs of reversible toddler pants that need elastic, 3 garb shirts and 2 jerkins that needs to be sewn from scratch (no pattern) 2 tunics that need some mending, 3 cloth diapers that need a couple of last stitches, 6 witchbonnet sue quilt blocks that need to be sewn (I’m not completely happy with the ground colors, so I’m letting them sit to percolate) 2 pillow covers that need zippers, a curtain that needs hemming, another curtain that needs to be cut in half then hemmed, 3 pairs of jammie pants that needs hemming and elastic and 2 pairs of jammie shorts that need hemming and elastic, plus 3 tank tops that need neck fold over elastic. I’m great at getting MOST of the project done and horrible about the finishing details. I loose interest! ack.
I have 3 quilts in progress and a bag. ALong with many almost-WIPS.
I’m almost done with a really cute skirt! My first one with any complexity. Also in my WIP pile is another entry to the Scrap busters contest….
My current wip is an apron from my bro-in-law’s cast off shirt. It was new but without tags so I could let it go to waste. I also have a skirt to alter.
That fabric is fantastic. I am currently making reusable shopping bags that I will be giving away as christmas gifts. I love practical gifts!
I’m currently working on a pair of lightweight denim overalls for my daughter and then moving on to her Halloween costume. She’s going to be a ladybug
WIPs? Are we allowed to NOT mention the ones that have been there for a while…? Project on the top of the pile include one knit dress, baby bedding, and something fun with vintage neck ties.
My current WIP is a quilt top that is waiting to be quilted and bound. It will be my first quilt that I will machine quilt myself using stippling. I need to practice a little more before I dig into the real thing…
Love the camping and the party fabric. Gorgeous! I am making corduroy skirts for my girls and a tote bag for mom. Both are at the top of the giant WIP pile on my dresser, waiting for sewing machine tune-up!
I have a million and one WIP! Cell phone case, purse from a pattern, hemming/mending (always!), cape for my toddler from a pattern, birthday banner, and cloth napkins. There are others I’m sure…there always is!
Current workS in progress include a Red Riding hood cape and apron for my 4 year-old, a woodcutters outfit for my 6-year-old, and a werewolf costume for my 10-year old (he refused to be just a wolf, on the grounds that he has never worn a single scary costume for Halloween, and this year he is going to.
Also working on pencil and crayon rolls, cushions, winter dresses and pyjamas for 3 upcoming craft shows, along with more pumpkins (I hope) and some kind of stuffed christmas ornament.
I love the camper fabric, as I camp with a group of families every year, and would love to make them something with it.
I’m in the planning stages of a baby quilt for a colleague. He and his family are big on living green, so I’m pulling from my stash of vintage linens, trying to find stuff that isn’t flowers for his soon-to-be-born son. Thanks for the chance at the giveaway!
Ooh, that Party Dress is fabulous!
Let’s see…I’m working on quilt squares for my bedroom quilt, patchwork scarves for my Etsy shop, and a big embroidery order. I also have some vintage sheets ready to make bibs.
All the fabric is gorgeous. My WIPs are too great to number
) Right now I am trying to finish a batik quilt for a Christmas gift, a wildflower wallhanging, a baby quilt for Margaret’s Hope Chest to name a few. Thanks for the giveaway.
I’m making an apron for my friend’s daughter who’s having Birthday party tomorrow. Gotta finish it tonight….
One of my WIP that I’m actually working on is a Queen size Batik Jewels Quilt. The fabrics are so much fun. And of course there’s the charm swap, the baby quilt – oh, you didn’t want all of the list? Okay. Before I close let me say the new Kaffe fabrics are too pretty for words!!

Then, I want to make some placemats for Thanksgiving.

My current WIP is a Christmas table runner, a few dresses for the baby girl, and onsies with fabric on the front for friends having babies. Oh and the kids Halloween costumes.
right now, I’m making a cute pear zakka bag using a tutorial in zakka crafts.
I’ve got a few more purses to make for Christmas presents, but I’ve promised myself to work on my mending/hemming/patching pile first. Christmas isn’t that soon anyway, right?!
I’m already envisioning projects with the camping fabric. Love it.
My WIP today: an infant romper crafted from an up-cycled sweater.
I’m working on some tote bags for Christmas gifts, but I made a mistake last time I sewed and have to unpick, so the projects have languished…
I have a quilt top finished using Far Far Away. I was so thrilled to find it on sale here a couple of weeks ago!
I just finished my daughter’s halloween costume (she will be a little chef) so now I am off to tackle decorating projects for her new big girl room…sewing an owl bow and clippie holder tonight for her and for her little sister on the way!

The camping fabric is the bomb! I’m currently working on the patchwork twirly skirt from my first purchase of fabric and patterns from Sew Mama Sew! Got the patches cut out, and will be sewing soon. Then onto Oliver + S pajamas for both kids!
My WIP is trying to establish a nice little bundle of fabrics to work with. The My Happy Garden collection looks so dreamy and comforting, and I really, really like that it’s organic. I’d love to see how it feels.
Love the fabrics!! I’m currently working on Halloween themed peasant tops with ruffle pants for my two girls and lots of boys pjs. All cut out just sewing any free moment I have

Working on a stretchy-topped, warm-bottomed maternity skirt. This belly is getting to be pretty big. Will either have to finish the skirt soon, or add more stretchy.
I’ve got fabric from SMS ready to go for the Mr. Bedbug’s Ditty Bag (an older Amy Butler pattern). Also want to sew a few skirts for myself, and a dress for my girl.
Oh my! My wip pile is quite big! I’m part way through making a quilt for my new niece, I also have a partly done 9-patch quilt that has been hanging around for months, a couple of embroiderys that have started but nor prgressed very far and now I have joined a Flickr embroidery swap that is a bit scary – everyone seems so talented and I am more than a bit nervous about it!

I have your advent quilt all cut out, just need to get started!
In my WIP I have a shopping cart seat/restuarant high chair cover for the little one. This weekend I hope to finish it and also make a couple of cloth diapers. My WIP. Well just to name a few, halloween costumes, school cristmas play costumes, craft show projects. etc etc.

Just finished my kids pirate costumes… and getting ready to start mine and my husbands costumes.
Love, love, love the party dress fabric…can’t wait until that comes out! I can see an Easter dress for my daughter with some of that….
My work in progress pile is much bigger than my completed pile! I have a quilt I am still cutting, a quilt I am tying, a t-shirt quilt I have started to cut, and then several little blocks I’ve pieced for fun while playing with my new Pfaff!
I’m making shirts for my daughters, a baby blanket for a pregnant friend, a monogrammed onesie for another pregnant friend, several pairs of pajamas for all of the toddlers I know and love, and eventually I’ll get to the large tote bag for myself.
I love the happy campers, so fun!
I am currently working on a Queen size quilt. Always fun to read your posts!
I really love the “My Happy Garden” fabrics. Sooooo pretty.

Those are some great new fabrics. My work in progress pile to take care of some of my scraps is some doll clothes.
I’m working on wonky log cabin blocks to make a halloween quilt. It’s on top of my must-do list. Thanks for all the great ideas to use up scraps. I have taken note.

I’m currently working on a cute Fall skirt- I better hurry, though, or else my pregnant belly won’t allow me to wear it!!
Fantastic fabrics, expecially My Happy Garden. My WIPS – too many for here but they include a linen top for me, more nightgowns for my girls, a knitting needle roll and I’ve just bought the fabric to make a loose cover for a thrifted chair. And then there is the mending…

Love all of your fabric! I’m just finishing up my first quilt, the Single Girl Quilt, for my daughter. Can’t wait to start working on a new one so that I can have a reason to buy more fabric:)
Oh jeez. You really want the list? ….Replacing the elastic and aplix on my cloth diapers, sewing new diapers, need to make a quilt sandwich for a completed quilt top, sewing a quilt top for my MIL…. sewing ADD, much?
I just moved so my major work in progress is setting up my art/craft work area! Other than that I’m learning to embroider.
Hi, At the top of my wip is my red and aqua Disappearing 9 patch blocks!
binding last year’s quilt
My WIP pile includes several purses, a couple of pairs of pajamas, a dress, a jacket, two quilts… wait, three quilts… no make that four, actually… two sweaters, a shrug, a scarf, 3 sets of socks, a pair of mittens. Wow, I didn’t realize how bad it was. I’m embarrassed.
My works in progress are starting to pile up. A quilt for my husband, a quilt for my in-laws, a quilt for my daughter. Did I mention they’re all Christmas presents?? Luckily I just finished my daughter’s halloween costume tonight!
The teetering WIP pile includes store-bought plain tees to be embellished, a naked doll and thoughts of a scrap-buster entry.

(Also finishing a candy corn tablecloth for Halloween)
Love the new camping fabric. I am currently working on the cutest Dick and Jane baby recieving blanket and burp pads.
I have a pile of ufos that I have been working my way throught these past few months. The past few weeks I’ve been finishing up halloween projects from last year (and beyond). Some of my ufos take a few minutes to complete(shame on me) and some several hours. A couple need to be taken apart and requilted (the worst kind of ufo).
My WIP pile includes the start of more throw pillow covers (made a set for a friend last weekend, now want to tweak the design a little) and a very strong desire to break out some charm pack sets to try my hand at the top for a lap quilt. Plus, the mending I hand-sewed on my husband’s pants (popped seam) survived the washer, so I am feeling quite accomplished!
So many WIPs, where to start? Gotta put the binding on my wonderful bargello quilt for my son. And with a few inches of SNOW on the ground this Sat. AM, a great time to get started. Thanks for the fabric tour!
sorry, an elephant walked across my keyboard there!

Currently I’ve got one quilt, two top (one that just needs buttons, so that doesn’t count, right?) and one bag.
My WIP is a kitty block Christmas quilt for my SIL. Also a fall apron for my sis.
I’m working on some of Heather Bailey’s pincushions. I have a pear and a turtle on deck at the moment, nevermind the growing number of quilt tops I’ve also started.
I am at the binding stage of a baby quilt. Thanks for the giveaway!
WIP…birthday pjs, refitting a too large neckline on a summer shirt (hmm…maybe I’ll just wait till next spring to finish that)and some baby gifts- booties and burp cloths so far.
MY WIP:
clean out, paint, and move into my sewing room (this weekend?), finish a pleated skirt for my daughter, and hem a shirt for my son’s teacher. I have other sewing projects waiting to be cut out….so I guess they aren’t actually works in progress yet, are they? Can’t wait to get to them!
I’m working on a denim baby blanket, a wallet, and two purses right now.
Right now I’m working on a clothes pin bag. I’ve still got one from 1978. Time for a new and improved.
Oh my WIP pile … A Buttercup Bag from Made by Rae, a simple blouse pattern from her (appropriate as a maternity top, which I still need, but much more summery than I’ll be able to wear if I finish it now), and a little decorative quilt that I started years ago! I think it’ll be perfect for the little boy we have on the way, though, so I really need to finish it up!
My WIP is a quilt for my first child! I’m 5 months pregnant so I still have time! Also want to start a christmas quilt soon…
It just keeps growing…. I have napkins and place mats, a purse, pj pants that I couldn’t get done during the pj thing going on in the forum, but I am still determined to finish, then of course all the holiday stuff that still needs to get done… whew.
lots of baby quilts in my pile! i love the happy campers and the party dress looks wonderful!
Burp clothes, appliqué onesies, and a table runner!
I don’t have WIPs yet, cause I need to buy some new patterns and fabric. I’m thinking of a skirt and a nice blouse.
My WIP are all in the planning stages, just now. Aprons, pillows and dresses for little girls!
My WIP are numerous. My fabric is overflowing. Your scrap buster month is just what I needed. That’s so much. I’ve made a list and a pile and I’m working again!!
My WIP is a quilt for my youngest grandson!…
Love your new fabrics!
Blessings!!!
Pat
I am working on making a baby bag for me (baby due in January
Binding my first large quilt! Ummm, organizing my sewing closet….and making 2 baby quilts. I am having a fun weekend
Wow, some great new fabric to drool over..
Oh pick me please, I just need the time to sew.
I have 3 quilts now that are half finished
I have a wip pile that I plan on doing sooner than later and one that is really long term. They consist of pj pants for the kids, baby quilt for a co-worker and a quilt for my own son.
Ooooh, I just love Kaffe Fasset’s fabrics, I have a large piece of his Henna Navy (I think that’s right) which I just love – the colours are so vibrant and the cotton so soft, I think it will become a favourite skirt. In my scrap bag at the moment are some scraps left over from Moda’s Momo Wonderland collection and I think I might make some of Lolly Chop’s butterflies with a selection of the pinks – how gorgeous!
I’m working on some fabric birds with wire armitures . . . hopefully they’ll be done by the Holidays!
Wonderful, dreamy fabric… as always!
Well I’m working on purses & 2 pairs of pants. I have numerous others things that I need to get done but didn’t start yet. Winter nightgown for my sister & pillowcases.
I have a WIP list which includes some patchwork placemats (from a tutorial here on SMS!), curtains, and thinking of a handmade gift for a little girl turning one. I can’t decide between clothes or a toy??
However, I’m 38 weeks along and I don’t know when these things will actually get done! I spent a lot of energy already this month finishing up things for new baby and big sister!
Love the sneek peak and new fabrics!
Sigh…love Kaffe Fassett. Oh, shame on me. I have soooo many WIPs right now. I’m working through some blocks for Cornbread and Beans Quilting’s Sig Block Swap and I’m making embroidered tea-towels for my mum and a set of pencil cases for my niece and a baby quilt for a friend…and I’m cutting for a nine-patch of my very own. I hope to have them all done by the end of November though!
Oh, that WIP pile. How it does not shrink. I have … a vintage dress I’m refashioning into a shirt, a sweater that I’ve sewn buttons all over [only 4 more to go!], a Fall skirt upcycle that I shelved last year and need to pull out again, a quilt I’m making for my best friend, a queen-sized quilt I’m supposed to be finishing for me [that I started 10 years ago, oops], and a couple bags for friends. Hm. I’m also knitting a scarf for my mom and a sweater for me. Yup, that sounds like a typical WIP list.
Sandy Klop can do no wrong in my book! Love the new American Jane!
Oh goodness. I’ve got mostly Halloween costumes in my to-do pile. So many!
In my WIP bag I have a grey pencil skirt that I make plans to finish every weekend, but those plans are usually replaced with a cleaning to-do list.
Love the new fabrics! My current WIPs are a Log Cabin quilt for my bed, several child aprons for my shop, a skirt I cut out for the summer skirt sewalong that I never finished, and several small projects cut out to sew on as time allows.
There are several of those fabrics that would work so well on finishing up my daughters birthday bed quilts and a wall hanging I am working on for a christmas gift. They all have gotten put on hold since hubbie lost his job due to lack of funds but it has forced me to get creative. I have been digging through scrap bags I already have and have found several pieces of fabric I adored. It definietly has put my creative bone to work.
i am obsessed with the happy camper fabric! my wip is halloween costumes.
Gorgeous fabrics there!!
Work in progress:
**** Shirring flowery blouse with an attached fabric flower for my 2.5 year old daughter
*** Wristlet pouch for my sister
** Handsewn snap clip cover for friend’s daughter
* Baby tie for my 7months old son
It’s SEW fun to SEW!!
WIP pile… I’ve been working on crayon rolls. lots of crayon rolls. One of those things that’s easier to make lots of at once. Just sent 5 home with my MIL for all our nieces and nephews, and have lots more to do here to give all my kiddos friends as bday gifts this year. And Christmas for our other niece and nephew. And my neighbor wants a few for her nieces and nephews too.
Also just finished the top to an outfit for my 1 y.o. and have to make the pants now.
Finally, have a pile of scraps & hexagon papers on the nightstand for TV watching and a little hand sewing fun!
Love to see what everyone else is working on… but it just makes me want to make way more stuff than I have time for! The next thing I want to start is a crochet snuggie! How fun!
I’m working on finishing up a mystery quilt I started back in April and I’m getting ready to machine quilt a Dresden Fan quilt I made for my mom!
I tried to work through my WIP pile this summer – I did get all the clothes made (yay!) but still have lots of quilts to do! And then there is Christmas sewing to get started…..
Im working on some fabric covered buttons, yoyo’s and pincusions. I love all the scrap ideas you have and want to try some of those aswell.
Love the fabric! I am currently working on a fairy costume, an octopus costume, a witch costume and bean bags.
I love the odyssea fabric the best. Does the fabric have to be cut out to be considered a WIP? If so I have 3 quilts in my WIP pile. One of them will probably get finished in November because it is a baby gift for a baby born in July. The other two won’t get finished until later. Because I have tons of Christmas gifts to get started on!
Just introduced to your blog by my newly-wed daughter. Love it! I am a quilter, currently busy creating for http://www.fawnmom.com – a brand new co-op of artisans creating items for babies, children, and hip moms in the Central Florida area. WIP – Baby quilts using new Moda collections:”Baby Brown Bird” and Fiona’s Frolic fabrics.
Pajama pants are in my unfinished pile, along with a couple of bags, and various quilts needing the final bindings. I don’t get why its so hard to just complete something!
Work in progress right now would be a color wheel quilt. I am having issues getting it to lay flat, and need to work that out. Other than that, I need to be adjusting me new dress form! yay!!!
Wow, nice fabrics. I’m working on a bag for a friend, a boy quilt, a family quilt, placemats using Ikea fabric…and so on. It’s healthy I guess to have at least 5 WIPs at all times…never have nothing to do!
I’m working on finishing a hot water bottle cover…knitting the top of it.
So, so many WIPs! My poor husband and sewing room! Current on the list are finishing matching pjs for my daughters and her cousins! I got until next Saturday!!! wish me luck!
I’m currently teaching my son to sew–he’s making an apron.
Gee, I have a ton of things in my pile: flouncy aprons, napkins (just waiting to be hemmed), patchwork bags (the pieces ordered and photographed, waiting to be sewn up), several skirts…but I got sidetracked by the recent link to the thumbtack tutorial that uses up just tiny scraps…so my pile of fabric is going down only a tiny bit!
hi, my current wip is a princess dress for my daughter.actually, two because her sister is sure to want one and i already have the fabric on hand. their winter wardrobe is waiting to be added to the wip list once this is finished!
Can you believe that I’m only now getting the chance to make the Made by Rae Spring Ruffle top–one for my daughter, one for myself!?! ha ha ha!
Love the new Happy Camper line!!
I am working on a quilt for one of my daughters. I have about 3 patterns staring at me on my work surface for Christmas presents. An apron pattern I bought from Sew Mama Sew, a jumper pattern for grand daughters and a bag pattern. Humm. Better get busy.
Have two work in progress. One is a log cabin style quilt three quarters pieced together and the other is a simple block quilt a baby quilt actually which is being hand quilted. Both are christmas presents. I never work one piece till its finished. I have to have two or three on the go at one time!!!
Mystica
my WIP pile is HUGE! I have to topstitch an apron waistband; put pockets on & hem my son’s pj bottoms; finish handsewing a binding on a quilt (1/2 way done); I have 2 kid’s aprons that need to be finished; a couple of pants that need to be hemmed into shorts; then put handles on the bags made from the portion cut off from the pants; oh, and about 5 quilt tops in progrss using my scraps..the ideas were from http://www.quiltville.com. Wow, that doesn’t sound so bad! Although, I have been working on my WIP for the last month. I have made a big dent! Yay me!
But, that was only my sewing WIP…there is still knitting and crocheting WIP’s too! Ah me!
My wip pile is surely at least a mile high. Currently I am working on a twin size quilt and just finished a double size quilt that is a pattern I made up. I have a pink and black quilt to make, a quilt that has one fabric in every block ( ex. green on green is the color I chose)and lots of baby quilts. I love love fabric and have a ton of scraps. I really like the charm packs.
Love the Happy Campers!! Working on different projects…
Burp Rags, Purse, and just finished a Shaggy Throw Quilt for my Daughter in-law. Love your site… just found it today!! Already
told a friend about it!! Thank you!!!
My WIP is for the first time on planning ahead on the homemade Christmas gifts for the little one’s. Also a Playscape-Farm ;D DD is turning “1″ at the very beginning of Dec., so much more to plan.
By the way…that “Happy Camper” material is the absolute cutest!!
Beautiful fabric! I am drawn to the My Happy Garden. But I love all things Kaffe. I have some of his scraps saved for a quilt project I am building up to.
Wow! I can’t wait to see those Kaffe collection prints in person! Love the bold colors!
WIP?
A halloween costume involving a baked potato.
two sets of burpcloths
and prepping a new handbag! Gearing up for spring bags already!
Love the Odyssea. Working on a duvet bag. Thanks!
I love the Happy Campers material. I’m starting an embroidery project to give away at Christmas. I think starting now in October will give me enough time to get them done.
We just moved into a new apartment. So I’m busy sewing curtains and cushion covers. My longerterm project is a big quilt for our bed.
That Happy Campers line is too cute! I’d love to make a quilt for my son from that fabric collection. I just finished the top of a quilt for my niece – am taking it to a friend today for longarm quilting!
Currently, I am in progress of creating an apron…this is to just get me started as my big project is a queen size quilt. It’s a big challenge, but I can’t wait to get ‘practiced up’ for my beautiful burgandy quilt.
I hope to win the scrap bag!!
I’ve just started sewing so my WIP pile isnt very big…yet!
Im currently making a nice grey-white sweater, and I’ve bought fabric to make 3 dresses (or maybe 1 dress and 2 tunics), 1 pair of pants, 2 skirts and 1 longsleeve t-shirt.
I’ve only recently discovered this website and I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! Yay!
I’m only 17, but I’ve completely fallen in love with sewing and I’m glad to find that I’m not the only one!!
Okay.. WIP pile. Pretty big LOL! Over this weekend, I’m planning on finishing my friend’s birthday present (a little tote back with Oreo cookies on a plate-applique (I’m gonna try that applique tutorial you have on this site! It’s so useful! I’ve never thought of using a stabilizer so fabrics won’t pucker~) with a glass of milk applique!)
Another project is for another friend’s birthday present: a hat, but he’s so loyal and friendly and caring, I’m making it into a very kawaii puppy hat
Third project? Another birthday present LOL! It’s for a French exchange student at my school, and I’m sure she’s homesick, and though I don’t know her all too well yet, I’m making her a little drawstring-bag with little French-flags and French-people patterns
(I’m also sticking a can of nutella in it before I give it to her ’cause nutella is GODLY!)
Fourth project! Just a little tote bag for myself (the purse I made last year is not cutting out for me anymore lol! It seems like as you get older, you have to have more stuff in your bag!)!
Last project! My friend Nancy’s birthday (I never realized October was such a busy month for birthdays! Lol! I really should learn to not procrastinate D: ) is this Saturday! And since her last name is “Whalen” I’m making her a little blue tote bag with a blue whale applique
Though sort of a lot of projects for myself, I’m having SO much fun doing it! And I’ve just noticed you have a little Facebook button at the bottom of this page, and I have Facebook! So I’ll just click on over there right after I click “submit comment”! Yay!
My to make pile has baby blankets, a picnic blanket to finish for christmas, another picnic quilt to cut and put together. Also, I have to make the tree skirt and a new Stocking for our newest family member this year! I’m also making a cathedral window quilt. I need to make headbands to match my daughter’s dresses that I just finished. Soooooo many projects in my mind that will one day come to fruition. I love the ideas on here!
WIP…A reading (lap) pillow for my daughter, aprons for gifts, and caftan shirt for my husband.
