This is darling and would look spectacular on my Christmas tree I think! Some people might just be getting some of these as stocking stuffers!
I love stars at Christmas. I had some paper stars hanging from the ceiling and they have worn out. Now I have found their replacement. Very, very cute, thank you for posting, good instructions.
These would work perfectly to decorate your home during the holidays.

I am definitely going to have to make some of these for Christmas ornaments–thanks for the tutorial!
Love the vintage button in the center — I know I’d never be able to match the middle up, and the button adds just the right touch of problem-solving cute!
Very cute! Great ornament/decoration.
I’ve tried making this several times & mine looks nothing like yours
I can’t get 5 triangles to come out to a star shape. Any words of advice? These would have been so much better than a bow made of ribbon. Kris
I made a diamond template. if you need help like I did — http://wanderingknits.blogspot.com/2009/10/drafting-your-own-template.html
Too cute! I love stars and patchwork, so this is perfect! Thanks.
For Kris: Hi this is Lina – you need five diamonds (not triangles unfortunately!) to get you a star shape. Hope that helps!!!
love these, have made 4 so far, my lovely boy who is 6 has requested that I amke him some special “treasure stars” for his bedroom: makes a change from requests for nintendo games!
Awesome write-up, really! I really love this time of the year! Snowman and Cookie – Yah!
