Introducing ~ Rebecca
From Beth: Rebecca from The Restitcherator loves to sew and is an experienced pattern tester for numerous designers. She even managed to do a little sewing for us amidst a busy and exciting trip to Quilt Market! We were so happy she agreed to try out the Keyka Lou Half-Moon Handbag, one of the new PDF sewing patterns available in the shop. Keyka Lou patterns are downloadable patterns by Jennifer Paganelli and Carla Hegeman Crim for Sis Boom. Rebecca loved the pattern and will tell you all about it in our next post. In the meantime, check out Rebecca’s bio, blog, shop and more.
From Rebecca: I am a lifelong crafter. I started with cross stitch when I was 8 or 9 and have tried just about everything since then. Sewing, knitting, crochet, scrapbooking, collage, you name it. These days I am a wife, mother, and banker by day, seamstress and knitter by night (and weekend, and any stolen moment in between). A born and bred New Englander I am thrifty by nature, I love to save anything that might be used or enjoyed again sometime later.
As a kid, my mother called me Mandy Crumb. It is actually painful for me to throw anything away that I think I might “need” later. This has resulted in my love of “repurposing” fabrics of any kind. I have a a blog, an Etsy shop, and I have met dozens of great designers and authors on Twitter. Over the past two years I’ve done pattern tests for Patty Young, Bari J. and Two Peas in a Pod Designs. I love to be able to see fresh new ideas as designers come up with them, and I love a sewing challenge.
