I’m heading to the sewing machine — I’ve been wanting to make a cute summer top and now I have a fantastic reason to start!

Ottobre is fantastic for kids’ patterns and a decent selection for the boys! I love these Euro and Japanese pattern mags where you get a bunch of patterns in a range of sizes and no thin tissue paper.

Found some excellent tropical fabric to make a jazzy summer shirt for my grandson. He’s only 6 1/2 but he’s already “stylin’” and wanting to “look good for the ladies”.
I told his mom (my daughter) we don’t stand a chance when he hits the teenage years if he’s already thinking like this!!

My first time commenting here. I have been busy doing embroidry on towel sets for different customer and doing sewing repairs for others. I never thought to take pictures of the different sewing projects that I have done. Now I plan on getting my camera out and having it ready to snap those pictures to email in.

Is it ok if I didn’t start the project in JUne but I did finish it in June. With two toddlers it can take me about a month to complete an outfit with detail!

I finally got my photo of the flower girls dress to load, I made it for a friend’s daughter and had to spend the night before the wedding sewing on beads because she wanted to be like the big girls with their beaded dresses. I just decided I hate the clothes in the stores. They don’t fit the way I want, the fabric is not right so I’m going to make some clothes for this summer. I started sewing clothes in the ’70′s because my skin couldn’t take all that polyester. So glad I know how to sew!

My teen daughter has suddenly realized that she doesn’t want to look just like her friends and that by picking fabric and patterns she can get her own look. This month I made her a sundress and a high waisted skirt. They came out great and she loves them.

ooh! this is making me so excited to start sewing again! i put it on hiatus due to my best friend needing 30 little owl table toppers for her wedding reception that i had about 7 days to complete. what a nightmare! anywho, i think i’m ready to get back to it again!
