Guest FQ Pack Designer ~ Elizabeth Hartman
Elizabeth’s last Guest Fat Quarter Pack was a big hit so we asked her to do it again!
Elizabeth Hartman, the super-talented sewist from Oh, Fransson!, shared a great series of posts last year on the blog (remember the Pincushion Organizer and the Stack & Nest Blocks?). Elizabeth is an amazing quilter; we can’t wait for her new book The Practical Guide to Patchwork, coming out this October.
From Elizabeth:
- For this summer-themed set, I chose warm brown and honey colors, including the 1″ Carolina Gingham, which is a favorite of mine. Because it’s berry season here in the Northwest, I also included some bold berry colors that I think would be perfect for a patchwork tablecloth or picnic quilt.
The fabrics:
- Second Row
- Carolina 1″ Gingham Cocoa ~ Robert Kaufman
- Mushroom ~ Shot Cotton
- Chandelier Earth ~ Del Hi
- Third Row
- Grandma’s Pearls Fiesta ~ Party Dress
- Marnie Mustard ~ Poodle
- Cathedral Peony ~ Good Folks

Oh my gosh! I love it!
Not sure if it’s my browser or what, but I can’t see the FQ pic.
This quilt is awesome. Every version that Elizabeth has made with the Mixtape quilt pattern is just so beautiful to look at.
This is a gorgeous FQ pack! I would use this pack to make a quilt for my sister, she would absolutely love the colors!
This is such a beautiful fabric collection! I’d love to use it for one of the patterns I purchased from her shop!
these are great summery fabrics!
LOVE the quilt!!! SO cute:)
I am in love with these prints! So beautiful & bright!
What a great combination! I would love to make some fun placemats out of those.
What a lovely fat quarter pack! I love Elizabeth’s blog and projects, she is so amazingly talented and inspirational. The colors she chose for this pack are roughly what I’ve had in mind to make a play quilt for my little niece, for a first birthday. So I would probably make that if I win! Thank you for the giveaway.
It’d be very tempting to buy the mixtape pattern (I’ve been admiring it) and just copy Elizabeth. But, I’d probably make a big stacked coins quilt, or zig-zags out of half square triangles.
Thanks for the contest!
I would make a small throw for my daughter’s purple room. . .
she is amazing at putting the FQ packs together! Love it!
Those colors are so yummy!! Love that quilt!
What great colours. I think I’d make a picnic quilt just like Elizabeth’s. It’s wonderful!
I just bought her mixtape pattern, so would definitely use the fat quarter pack for that, if I won. Thanks!!
Win one?! Wow! Make a mixtape quilt of course, I bought the pattern last week!
I love the combination of those fabrics! I love Elizabeth’s eye for picking fabrics. Thanks for the contest!
Those are so pretty! I’d probably make a quilt for the beach/pool/general outdoorsy fun.
that’s a great set. i love the colors!
Love the colours! I’m still looking for the perfect fabrics for a long overdue picnic blanket, I think these could be it! Thanks for the chance to win!
She makes such wonderful selections of prints!
Lovely!
I would love to make some coordinated kitchen items: potholders, towels, an apron! Love the colors.
What beautiful pops of color! I would make a baby quilt for a friend who is pregnant with a girl!
Can’t see the FQ pack picture either but the quilt looks lovely
Gorgeous happy mix! This screams beach/picnic quilt to me, fo sho.
Lovely! Picnic quilt for sure!
I’d love to make a table runner in the mixtape style.
One of my favorite quilt makers!!
Those fabric choices are amazing. (But then again, my wife thinks that I’m a fabric addict.) It’s nothing for me to go into a fabric shop and come out with 40-50 dollars worth of fabric and not really have a purpose for it yet.
Such a lovely quilt, I like everything about it, the colors, the design, Elizabeth has out done herself again!
That is talent that I think I’m too much of a color weenie to ever have. Wow. See. I would have never come up with that combination because I’d be afraid of the “loudness” but it’s all so lovely together. Sigh.
Thanks for the contest. These are dying to become something in my daughter’s room.
I would totally make a new quilt and practice my new hand quilting skills! Beautiful fabric combo!
I do love that pattern. And the fabric is gorgeous!
So bright and happy! I would make…so many options! I think I’d try to make a tote bag or hand bag since I’ve got way too many unfinished quilts on the sewing table right now.
i love the fat gingham check — i’ll be looking for this in other colors! what a cool color combo in this quilt.
Love the picnic quilt she made! I think I would use these fabrics to make a baby quilt… lots of friends having babies!
I totally stalk OF!! her blog is amazing with quilt ideas, helpful tuts and what not!! she had me with the paintbox quilt OMG!!
I just love her blog, and that Mix-Tape quilt in on my list of projects to do!
She’s my muse! I wandered into her blog one day and she inspired this non-crafty girl, who didn’t even own a sewing machine to get quilting. One Bernina and many hours of toil later, I am about to complete my first quilt! Thanks, Elizabeth!
What a yummy pack! The Wall Flower Piney Woods is gorgeous! I’d make a quilt: possibly a throw, possibly a picnic blanket.
Love the combination! It would make a beautiful picnic quilt for sure.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I wish I had the eye to put fabrics like that together on my own! Since I do not, I’d be delighted to win them and I’d make my expecting friend a beautiful baby quilt!
love the fabric combination. I’m not sure what I would make with it. I’ve started Christmas presents already so sadly it would probably not be made into something for me
Love the colors and combination. Pink is my favorite.
I love these fabrics.I would love to make a quilt.
I love the mix tape quilt pattern, it seems easy enough to try for my first quilt. I’d love to own some of the fabrics too! Thanks for the chance to win.

Pick me, pick me!! I love those fabrics, and the quilt Elizabeth made with them is DIVINE! I’m sure I’d just copy exactly what she did because it is so pretty!

Always love the color combo’s Elizabeth puts together. Beautiful quilt.
What wonderful colors! I’d love to make a quilt with these.
Love both the fabrics and the quilt. Looks like a great little blanket!
The colors so perfectly represent the berry season here in the NW!! We’re on our way to berry pick right now and I’ll be thinking about these fabrics the whole time.
Now this I would love love love to win!
I check Oh Fransson! daily. I’ve just been waiting for my SS check to come before I buy the Mixtape and several more patterns. Now we have a fat quarter pack, thanks to SewMamaSew to go with it!! I love your site and Elizabeth’s too. So much talent. Thanks for the FQ pack giveaway contest.
Beautiful! Love the gingham!
Love the berry and citrus combos I’m seeing popping up this summer. I’d make a cute pieced top with my f.q.s!
What a fresh fabric group! I’d love to be included in the draw.
I just got her new pattern today
So I’d make that pattern with the FQ’s!
I have also been looking to make a picnic blanket. I am off for the summer with the kids and these beautiful fabrics would be perfect for trips to the park. I have been into sewing rag quilts lately so I think I will use that technique. I often check out Oh,Fransson. Keep up the good work!
Oh what a lovely selection…I bought the last one and am making a split nine patch quilt with it….with this one I would make a picnic blanket and napkin set!
i love how unsuspecting those designs are–i would never have thought to put all of those fabrics together, but they look beautiful! that would be such a fun quilt to make!
So pretty-I would make a lap quilt for a friend.
Elizabeth’s blog is one of my favorites and I am never disappointed in anything she writes about or makes. I would make one of her self-designed quilts with the fabric; maybe even the Mixtape pattern, although I have several of her patterns in my possession, both purchased and free. Thanks!
such a great combo! really liking the custom mixed FQ packs!
I love these prints! So bright and cheery!
How beautiful! I would make a picnic quilt as well for my mom. She makes the BEST berry pies.
Jenny

I love that quilt. I would like to make one of my very own!
Purples galore–pretty, pretty:) Some sort of quilt would be in order.
Oh what a great set! What would I make?? A quilt seems like a great idea!
Love it, love it! Especially the blue–at first I thought was a stark contrast, but now I can start imaging how it would fit in. I would probably not quilt (eek) but make some interesting accessories with this pack.
I love the sunflower berry fabric and the bold color combo!
I love those pinks and greens. I just read another entry and I think I’ll copy her- I am mulling over designs for a friend’s baby shower and this would be perfect for a baby quilt. I absolutely adore oh fransson and I think Elizabeth is super talented.
Love the color combinations and always love her blog!!
Such pretty fabrics!
I love the mushroomy browns and mossy greens together–very soothing & woodsy. Elizabeth’s work is so inspiring.
I just love the mix of patterns and colors!
Those are all lovely and I’m especially drawn to shot cottons. The prints selected really pop; what a great selection for a quilt!
I wish I had an eye for color like Elizabeth does. Such talent. Thanks for the chance at that such pretty fabric.
An absolutely lovely combination, those fabrics. the pattern of the quilt suits the bundle perfectly!
I am definitely looking forward to Elizabeth’s book in October!
Gorgeous color combo….I’m loving all the purple around right now!
i’m making some quilts for my sisters, and those fabrics would coordinate quite nicely with them. so if i won, that’s probably what i would do with them
Loving the bright and graphic color/print combo in this bundle!
I just love seeing Elizabeth’s name and work popping up at my favorite sites. Thank you!
Such a lovely combination! I want to (eventually) make both Elizabeth’s beautiful Mixtape pattern and the Mod Sampler quilt pattern on her website and think that these would be perfect for a summer picnic.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE those colors!!!!!
I love those fabrics and I would use them in the Mixtape quilt – what a perfect combination!
What great choices! They make for such a great collection! I’ve actually been looking all over the internet today for fabric to use in my next quilt. These would be perfect!
Great FQ pack! Love the berry and brown, especially! Might make a cute timber top quilt, actually
I love all of her stuff. What a great fat quarter pack!!
woo count me in, fabric picks are awesome.
The fabrics are gorgeous and would solve the “What fabrics to pick” dilemma I am burdened with right now.
I absolutely love the gingham with the rest of the colorway
I can’t see the first picture either. But the smaller ones show that Elizabeth has picked absolutely fabulous colors! I might try making an apron or placemats out of the fat quarters!
Until I saw the fat quarters made into the Mix Tape quilt, I wasn’t overly impressed. Clearly I lack vision! Wow! I would make some fairy tents with these fabrics and also a mini qult just like this one.
Love the colors! I would make a quilt with the updated mixtape pattern, which I already pre-ordered. thanks for the chance to win.
Nice combination of colors and patterns.
Lovely fabric combinations!
Love love love this pack!! I would (finally) get cracking on my daughter’s bed quilt if I won it!
Beautiful combination of fabrics! I can’t wait for her book!
hmmm…I actually think this collection would make a great baby-girl quilt!
I can’t see the first picture either, but I did buy Elizabeths’ Mixtape quilt pattern & I’d love to replicate it with those colors!
Elizabeth has such a great eye for color, pattern and harmony. Its evident in all her fat quarter packs.
I’d love to win this!
Elizabeth’s patterns are so easy to follow! I really enjoy them.
I love Elizabeth’s style! I don’t think I would normally pair those colors together, but after looking at the quilt she made, it’s amazing how nicely the fabrics combine.
Such a pretty set! I’d love to add it to my collection for the ready when inspiration hits!
Great fabrics, I have a “thing” for circles and polka dots. I would use these to create a bright walling for my office. I have been contemplating something to inspire me throughout the day.

I’d love to use these fabrics to make a mixtape quilt too.
oooooh. wonderful! Sucha great eye for this kind of thing
What a great combination of fabrics! It would make a perfect quilt for my brand new baby girl….
Wonderful combo. I would never have thought to use the gingham or dark blue fabric with those other colours but they really set off the other colours!! I would make the picnic blanket with the denim backing that was on Oh Fransson about a month ago.
Oh, I’d love to win the bundle she picked out! I’d probably make a quilt similar to hers.
I think the Mixtape quilt is quite interesting – I’d like to try doing that.

I love the choice of colors! And the quilt is mesmerizing. Thanks for the opportunity.
I wish I had a gift for putting fabrics together! I have to rely on the good taste of others!
The colors looks so different on the “bulletin board” than they do in the photo – that’s what makes it so hard to mix and match prints from different collections when shopping online. It’s nice to have such a talented “mixologist” doing the work for us.
Absolutely gorgeous combination. I love all of Elizabeth’s choice of fabric, she has a great design eye. I am so glad that you make Elizabeth’s fabric mixes accessible and easy to order in the FQ packs.

I want to make one of those Mixtape quilts! Those fabrics are perfect!
Lovely choice of fabrics! Elizabeth has such a great eye for color. If I win the FQ’s, I will use them to make some napkins, they would spruce up my dining room, for sure!
Love this! I just purchased the pattern and can’t wait to get started.
I would have never put those fabrics all together, but they are wonderful! Just one more reason that a fresh pair of eyes is the perfect thing sometimes. I want to make this adorable quilt!
Elizabeth has a keen eye for color and variety and I would love to win. I’d whip up her renewed Mixed Tape quilt.

So pretty! I would have to make a Mixtape quilt, I love the one Elizabeth made!

Ooh, I especially love that brown gingham! (Visions of the world’s cutest picnic blanket.) You’re right, what a perfect set for the Pacific NW.
Gorgeous quilt! Love all the colors!
What fun fabrics! I would make a t.v. watching (lap) quilt for my living room…perfect colors!
I’d make a quilt for ME! Thanks for the chance!
Love it! I am looking forward to making my first quilt.
Only she can put together patterns and colors like this to make a collection so beautiful!
Hmm…I’d have to think long and hard before I cut into these fabrics, but the first things that come to mind are lunch supplies for my daugther for school (lunch box, napkins, etc..) or a quilted throw for my daughter’s room, or maybe a patchwork skirt/dress for her. These colors just make me think of my bright and cheery 6-yr-old!
LOVE the colour combo and it would be perfect for a little quilt for the little girl in my belly who was supposed to arrive YESTERDAY.
If I were to win a FQ pack, I would probably make my grandmother a quilt. She’s in a nursing home, and she’s always cold, and I’ve been saving up money (but still don’t have enough) to buy the most gorgeous fabrics I can find to make her a quilt. Because she really does deserve the best.
These colors are so wonderful. Would make an awesome quilt!!! Elizabeth has such a great eye for color.
I love the colors. They make me happy.
These colors are perfect together! I love how different all of the designs are!
Funny how fabric that you would think wouldn’t go together turn out so nice!

What gorgeous fabrics! I think I’d make a lap quilt so I could be cozy when I’m reading.
Again awesome choice of fabric. The key is how well they go together to create a stunning effect in the quilt. Elizabeth chooses fabrics and combos I know I pass over but then I see what she chooses and I realize I need to be more daring. Oh Fransson’s the best.
A quilt…of course!
Beautiful!!

I love your guest fat quarter packs, and am a particular fan of Oh Fransson. Thanks for the inspiration! This would be great for my first mini-quilt that I’d like to make, something pretty and urban.
I love these gorgeous colors! I am new to quilting, so I would love to make my first with this!
Love that quilt and love those colors! Thanks for a chance to win this cool bundle of FQ!
I’d use it to make either a quilt for the baby I’m incubating or or for smaller projects- shoes, hats, etc. I LOVE those colors!
Wow–two things I love coming together: Sew, Mama, Sew and Oh Fransson! Yippee! I think I would make a more modern quilt than my usual style–something using these bright, bold prints and a lot of solid space, maybe a Kona tan.
What beautiful material!!!! Love, Love, Love the colors.
I love these colours! If I am the lucky winner I would make either a simple summer quilt to use for picnics to enjoy the balmy evenings or a couple of cute patchy summer dresses for my two nieces. We have a while to wait here in the southern hemisphere for summer so I have time to make up my mind and make sure whatever I choose is ready to go for when the first warm weather arrives!
Thanks!
i neeeeeeed this! have to make a baby quilt for a baby girl (finally!) and this would be perfect!

what a great selection. At first glance I thought I wouldnt have chosen all of the darker fabrics but looking at the finished result, it dosnt just work it rocks! they look perfect against the white. I am about to progress from my first quilted pillow to a child sized quilt for my little girl so I would definitely use some of the pink fabrics for that, and save the green/browns for when I make one for my boy as sadly she only “does” pink…4 year olds eh!
