I bought a new sewing machine almost a year ago. Two main reasons – I couldn’t applique worth a darn on my daughter’s dresses with my Singer Stylist from the 1970′s and I couldn’t make a skating dress for my niece very easily either. So far I could make a skating dress and that book could teach me some applique!

It was nice to spend some time looking at all the great tutorials tonight.
I’m no sports fan at all, but there are people around me who’d love some of the homemade presents. I do love the books, they sound awesome.

I need to check out Lucid Foods at a bookstore ASAP! Louisa’s recipes sound delicious, healthy, AND perfect for our family’s way of life. It would be so refreshing to use recipes that incorporate fresh, seasonal ingredients as opposed to canned foods. I was just lamenting to my husband that I’m discouraged by having to do all the “canned food–>fresh ingredient” conversions for our meals…it’s really time consuming and the meals turn out to be more like food experiments and I’m enjoying cooking less and less. Thanks for sharing this new cookbook…I’m eager to read it!
