Introducing ~ Elizabeth

From Elizabeth: I’ve just learned I’m the third generation of women in my family who sew. My maternal grandmother was always sewing, making all nine of her children’s clothes as well as quilts and other linens. My aunt picked up the torch and has been sewing since she was a child. My mother taught me to cross-stitch as a child, but I was never very good at it it so I gave up in my teen years. She also attempted to teach me to knit, but all I have to show for it are a few knitted coasters. I picked up sewing last year on a whim, and quickly fell head over heels in love. I devoured every book I could find at the library on the subject and taught myself. I started simple, with receiving blankets and such, and graduated quickly to quilting, which seems to be my passion. I started a blog in the fall last year where I share my creative exploits, Don’t Call Me Betsy. When I’m not sewing and quilting, I’m chasing after a very active little boy who will turn three this month.

Elizabeth, you’ve got me as a fan with just the name of your blog. As another Elizabeth, I’m rarely “Betsy’ed” but I’m often “Liz-ed.” And you got it, Don’t Call Me Liz. But back to the topic at hand, congratulations on your stunning mastery of sewing and quilting–all while being the mother of a young and active boy. Your pillow is gorgeous.
