Pillow Contest Inspiration
Have you started your entry for the Pillow Contest yet? Remember, you can win a big variety of really fantastic prizes! We wanted to share a little inspiration with you today.
One of our board members, Heather from {House} of A La Mode, hosts a successful Pillow Talk Swap (currently in Round 4!) focused on modern, pieced pillows. Take some time to peruse the Pillow Talk Swap Flickr group. It’s full of some absolutely beautiful pillows!

This pillow was created in a previous round by Amber from One Shabby Chick for Heather (photo by Heather).
For a little “Words to Live By” inspiration, be sure to check out the collection of sayings we’ve noticed in recent weeks. We also get a kick out of everything created by Kimberly at Chez Sucre Chez.

Smiths Stitches by Kimberly, Chez Sucre Chez
Fantastic! Kimberly’s focus is embroidery, but remember you can add the words you live by to your pillow entry in any way you see fit… Silkscreening, stamps, appliqué, etc.

Don’t forget about all of the fabulous prizes YOU could win in the pillow contest. Edited to add: We’ve had lots of questions about international entries– They’re A-OK. Just in case you need a reminder these prizes might provide a little more inspiration!:

I really love this Cat in the Hat pillow! The buntings are adorable and they have little images underneath! So wonderful too that it was auctioned off to support the Queensland Flood Relief.

Too too many ideas. The colours are gorgeous on this. The words to live by are fabulous. I like the phrase from a freebie stitchery from a while back- “I want to be just like me”.
One shabby chicks pillow at the opening was inspiring for me, flickr is always a great place to look for inspiration. Sometimes it can just be a piece of fabric or even a drawing I make.

My current words to live by are “Do what matters most”. Simplifies many decisions.
I find that the blog “Kind Over Matter” is a great source for words to live by. Their daily emails deliver inspiring thoughts to my InBox, and they offer a lot of free downloads, allowing readers to create posters, cards, and other little lovelies. http://www.kindovermatter.com
I loved reading through the words to live by. Thanks for sharing the link.
