Introducing ~ Thomas
Thomas from Way Cool Kid is up next with a fun and easy project that includes some cute embroidery patterns. Thomas is finalizing designs for his first fabric line and is expanding his site with a move to Thomas Knauer Sews. Visit him there, and check out his new blog too.
From Thomas: After leaving academia due to my sudden development of Hypokalemic Periodic Paralysis I started to make dresses for my own daughter, and the next thing I knew I was hooked. Armed with my sewing machine, an MFA in Sculpture from Ohio University, an MFA in Print/Media from the Cranbrook Academy of Art, my years as a design professor at Drake University, and an incredibly supportive family, I started up my own Etsy shop. Now my first fabric line will be coming out with Andover this fall, and spend much of my time at work on my new addiction: quilting.

I know this Fantastic sewer mostly from twitter. His story is truly amazing and I admire his courage and spunk. Sometimes its just cool to see the energy that he spills out it’s truly inspiringto feel his true love for his family and for his craft. This is one very talented lad.
Yay, Ohio U! Yay, Thomas!
Welcome, Thomas! So you’re the one to thank for those darling mug rug / teapot rug designs. Any chance we’ll get a sneak peak at your fabric designs? After seeing your embroidery, I’m sure I’ll love it.
Thanks for the kind words. As far as a sneak peek, I can’t show too much yet, but I have posted some half-inch swatches to my site: http://www.thomasknauersews.com/fabric/
Can’t wait to be able to share more!!!
Like Terri, I know Thomas from twitter (he leaves me the kindest tweets!). Loved readying about Thomas’ background and his story. I think he needs to change his moniker to One Amazing Kid!
This is some intersting material. Kudos for taking some time to write.
