Wow! I would love to receive this prize. I can think of many crafty activities my 2-year-old daughter and I could do together with a Silhouette. I think the first thing I’d do with it would be to make some cute appliqués. She’s more enthusiastic than she is skilled with either paintbrush or fork, and some of her cute clothes could use some creative stain camouflage.

I just talked to the women, Pam, who owns the scrapbooking store here about the Silhouette a week ago. She said of all the different electronic cutters she has access to this is her favorite go to cutter. My daughter has got me interested in card making although I swore I would not ever want to start another hobby, I am somewhat slowly giving in to my itch. Pam also knows I am a quilter and when she told me she has used the Silhouette to also cut fabric I knew this was the one for me. So I would love to win this as I think it sounds like it would be one of the most useful cutters and I would love one!
oh my goodness!!!!! there are a thousand and five different things i can do with a Silouette SD!!! we just moved so the whole house is a blank Silouette canvas. i could use it to applique the new pillows for the livingroom. Or i could make lables for my kitchen storage jars. I can add the “department of lost socks” banner to my laundry room wall and “Khate’s Kreative Korner” for my daughters play area. Khate’s clothes would never be the same. How i would love to get creative with it.

I didn’t see anything in particular that I would make on their website but I know for sure my daughter’s cheer team would appreciate a few items. Also, I am thinking we/they could make some items for them to see in order to raise money for uniforms (much better than us parents shelling out the dough)
I would love to get the chance to try a Silhouette. One thing that I really want to make is some etched glass baking dishes for my cousin’s upcoming wedding. i’ve never seen this before! it looks ike an amazing tool! I like the adhesive vinyl. I can see endless possibilities. I would use them to decorate walls in my studio with inspirational words. I also enjoy card making, so this tool would be perfect!

I see so many tutorials and ideas on the web using a Silhouette and I am amazed at what all it can do!! I would love to have something like this to create my own tshirts for family and friends. My hubby and son love the shirts with silly sayings. It would be so nice to just buy a plain old t-shirt or even use some of the plain old tshirts that I find at the thrift store to refashion into the perfect shirt for one of my guys. I’m sure I would think of a million other uses once I had an item like this, too.

If I had one I would use it to make customised bags for myself and my friends and family as well as comfy, stylish t-shirts and hoodies, and some super-pretty appliqued skirts and dresses. I have had my eye on the Silhouette SD for months! I really want one for the school library I work in. We have many bulletin boards both in the library and through the hallways and the Silhouette would be the perfect addition to create beautiful bulletin boards and also student projects. The school I work at is an inner-city school that serves mainly low income children and there is never enough money in the budget for extras like this. I would start with a big bunch of heat transfer material and work my way on to fabric cutting interfacing. All in the name of children’s garment sewing, of course. And if they were good while I am slaving over their fall wardrobes, I might treat them to some temporary tattoos.
I’m a graphic designer, and I drool at the thought of owning a Silhouette! The first things I would try are designs for customizing fabric—cutting stencils and small shapes for applique. With a move overseas just months away, this would help me cope with leaving friends and family behind. I’ve wanted a Silhouette for years!!

To quote my daughter, who really, really wants one, we could do “ever so many things.” Though, personally, I’ve always wanted to do applique on all the fabrics in the house. Man, how wouldn’t I use that? Fabric appliques feature heavily in giving new life to my two girls clothes, which seem to attract holes and ominous stains like you wouldn’t believe. This would make that job so much cooler.

This just looks like too much fun! I have four teenage daughters and I think we would have a blast both with designing on jeans, shirts, sweatshirts and even their sneakers. I can see cards, gifts for friends and family being made. If you have teenagers you know that they multiply within your house and I think those other girls that congregate here could be turned on to some fun activities. It’s a tough choice…Seeing as how I spent ages yesterday using freezer paper to make a shirt from one of my daughter’s drawings for my husband’s birthday today, I’d say making custom apparel would be much easier with this machine!

For project #1, my son has a boy scout project to make the troop flag. He has draw a nice picture of the design he wants to use. With the Sihouette we could print out the design on vinyl and iron it onto a big piece of fabric, exactly as he has drawn it. Perfect!!

Wow. This is amazing. Right now my technique involves printing a picture or drawing a picture and then sewing the picture to the fabric and carefully cutting, cutting, cutting. Needless to say anything is probably better than what I’m actually doing.

Wow. This is quite a machine! I thoughtfully looked over the Silhouette website and I think the use for this machine would grow over time. I would start out customizing and adding custom embellishments to the clothes I am making for my daughter, nieces and cousins. Then I think I would make my daughter temporary tattoos (she is currently loving them). Then I think I could start using this machine for my business and make some custom vinyl decals for our windows and our vehicles. And then I think I would find even more uses for it as time went on. Just fantastic!

I have looked in wonder and amazement at the beautiful appliques that so many are coming out with on bags, pillows, and t-shirts; and couldn’t believe the time and concentration with the scissors that was used. Now I know the trick! The Silhouette SD!
Looks like lots of fun! Would use this to cut fabric designs, and to make cards, and whatever my 11 yr old granddaughter can come up with (she is so creative). Here’s hoping . . .

Oh, my, I have been pining for one of these for a while. I LOVE the look of subway art, for wall hangings, tote bags, clothing, etc. but without something like this it is sooooo tedious to cut each letter out of freezer paper if I’m going to use more than a single word or two. I’ve been lusting after the Silhouette for awhile now. I want to cut vinyl for glass etching and to use as a canvas mask for toddler artwork. What a fabulous tool! I’ve got three little beasties who love having their initials on the capes and bags and other items I make for them. I can just imagine how slick it would be using this to make all those Qs, Xs, and Zs!
Really, I think the question is,”What WOULDN’T I use the Silhouette for?” I would probably use it for applique stuff most of the time and all sort of fun stuff the rest of the time!
I just love what it can do, would use it to make cards and appliques and wall art and the list goes one. I think it is a fabulous machine and love how you can also make your own art with the computer.

Wow! I could think of so many ways to use this! I just saw a tutorial for temporary tatoos made with the machine! I’m a K-5 music teacher so the uses for this in the classroom (and home) are endless!

I love the Silhouette. I had wanted a die cut type of machine for years, but could never find one that I felt would meet all my crafting needs. Well, it looks like the Silhouette is the one! I love that it can do paper, fabric, vinyl and doesn’t need all those expensive cartridges.

I love the Silhouette and would love to own one for myself. What can’t this machine do?! I’d use it for cutting vinyl, making bling tees for my daughter, cutting paper for scrapbooking…the list goes on and on! I love that it doesn’t use expensive cartridges. The online library of images that you can subscribe to is amazing! LOVE IT!!

I’ve been coveting one of these! Right now, I would use it to make some things for my daughters All Star softball team, but a couple of months ago I wanted to use it for etched glass and applique for a quilt.
I would use it for sooo many things but the first thing I would use it for is fabric applique and vinyl sayings for my kids’ walls.

What a great opportunity! I have had my eye on the Silhouette SD for the past half year, yet at the moment I cannot afford it.
I’m maid of honor at my best friend’s wedding in September, and I would use the Silhouette to decorate her house (e.g. a vinyl sign for the livingroom window with their names and wedding date), make tags for the wedding favors, etc.
I also like to make cards and would love to try out what the Silhouette can do with paper. And making appliques to spice up my livingroom pillows, and pet beds with the names of my cats.

I have used a cricut before, which I’m told is similar to the silhouette…I’d cut fabric applique’s and beautiful paper and so much more!

I so want one of these machines to replace my Expression…no cartridges needed and from what I hear just plain old better cuts. I would use it to cut designs for my cardmaking as of now, but I see many more uses for it in the future….cutting vinyl for home and car, making rhinestone templates for special shirts for the kids, using PRINT and CUT (which I have heard is fantastic)….OOOOHHHHHHHH How I want one but the budget says not right now………BUT if I won it………….hmmmmmmmmm!!! I would use the Silhouette to scrapbook, make greeting cards, home decor, glass etching, iron on for my daughter’s t-shirts & bags, and fabric cutting. I would use it for clothing appliques, appliques for knitted hats and scarves, greeting cards, creating templates to use with icing sugar on cakes, and creating templates for etched glass and for designs on dishes using paints that you bake. What an amazing tool.

I have been dreaming of what I could create with a Silhouette SD for quite sometime. I love how you can use their software to create unique designs and purchase their designs. They’d help to make some spectacular applique quilts, decorate baby onesies and bibs that I like to make for Operation Homefront (for woman that deliver babies when their husbands are off at war). And I really like how you can cut vinyl and decorate your home, as well as make gifts. Plus, scrapbook & card making opportunities are wonderful. Clearly, the possibilities of what you can do with a Silhouette are endless. I’m keeping my fingers crossed and trying to keep my toes crossed too! This would be a tiny blessing to me. When my grandma passed away this year, she left me her sewing and quilting items. When I was a little girl she would teach me how to sew. Those were some of my favorite memories of her. Now that she’s gone, I feel the desire to carry on her legacy of making quilts as milestone gifts for family and friends. However, being a new mom makes this challenging. The silhouette would allow me to make beautiful quilts just like grandma, in half the time! I think the custom cards would be awesome. Each year we receive a ton of Christmas cards with someone else’s words and a signature. My husband comes from a family of writers – yes, the write letters to each other, clip interesting news articles, things like that. And, I think birthday wishes through e-mail is a tad lame. I have made homemade Christmas cards but it takes time, planning, and can be a lot of work! Thanks so much!

I have drooled over this machine since its inception. It just keeps getting better and better. As I look towards retirement and what cool “tools” I must buy this is right up there. My grandchildren love funky appliques on the clothes I have been making and repurposing for them (covering up that little tear with an applique given new life and longevity to costly clothing). I have found that arthritis in my hands makes cutting those detailed appliques more difficult, the Silhouette would be great. I see its future on my cutting table creating for my grandchildren, helping with homework and being my best friend… Thanks for the opportunity to take a chance…
