October 4 ~ Handmade Holiday Inspiration
Every day this month we’ll share some Handmade Holiday inspiration. It’s going to be fun!

Little Hoop Embroideries by Megan, Lilac Saloon
We don’t have a tutorial to share for these cute, little embroideries, but we love the idea of using 3″ hoops to design some one-of-a-kind ornaments. Megan sells these as custom name embroideries in her Lilac Saloon shop, in addition to some beautiful, larger embroidered pieces. If Megan’s work inspires you to design your own small hoops, you can use our Hand Sewing Month posts as a great stitching resource.

Comment today for your chance to win a new sewing book! We’ll select two winners from the comments each week. This week YOU can win Everything Alice or Sewing with Oilcloth. For book details see this post, and don’t forget to add your progress photos to our Sew-Along Flickr Pools for more chances to WIN!

Ok, those are amazingly cute. I’m gonna have to make some ASAP.
Wow – cute. How cool would these look on the tree or used as gift tags.
Love this idea. Thanks for sharing
Looking at the ideas embroidery I saw the post about sewing with kids and I was reminded of a great activity we did at preschool with the old orange bags (netting) and meat trays. Both work really well for sewing and you could use Christmas pictures with holes punched in them and felt stars to create a beautiful Christmas hanging made by your children. Then add one of these frames to it with their name so it it homemade and really special.
What a great idea to personalize.
I love these. What great gifts these would make at Christmas time. Thanks for sharing.
