Organic Wedgewood & Golden Pineapple Onesies We think these Organic Wedgewood & Golden Pineapple Onesies from Green Goat are just lovely. Mary writes, “I strive to always work in as many earth and kid-friendly ways as possible. I use organic cotton whenever available. I hand dye the garments using low impact dyes, which have a higher than average absorption rate… This means less water is required in the rinse process and less dye runs off in the water; therefore, the dyes have a lower impact on the environment. Low-impact dyes also typically do not contain heavy metals (like chrome, copper and zinc), nor do they require toxic chemical mordants to fix them to the fiber. Everything is hand printed by me using eco-friendly and non-toxic water based inks, making it a safe and wonderful addition to anyone’s wardrobe. Having fun, playing with color, and using safe and eco-friendly materials is what the Green Goat is all about.” |

I dye fabric so I can have just the hue and texture I want, and then I use it to make art quilts and ‘everyday art.’ I’m an avid blogger and I’ve had several publications in art quilting magazines. These publishing opportunities have led to me filming 4 episodes of the PBS show Quilting Arts TV (703, 709, 901 and 903).
