Introducing ~ Kelly
Kelly from kelbysews jumped into sewing in a big way. In just two years she has fallen in love with fabric and sewing; check out this incredible mosaic of quilts she completed in 2011! Kelly joins us next for a really sweet True Love project. You’re really going to love it! While you wait, take a peek at Kelly’s shop, where she sells her quilts, bags, patterns and more.

Kelly is a mom of two boys who taught herself to sew in January 2010 while watching dust gather on her law degree. Now she has a serious fabric addiction that tests the limits of her shelves and her husband’s patience! She spends her days doing the mommy gig and her evenings sewing. Every once in a while she might actually clean the house, but no one holds their breath.
Image: “Wonky Mini Quilt” measures 12″x20″. Kelly hand stitched around three of the stars with size 8 pearl, then stitched in the ditch around other stars.

this is very cute
Nice quilt, a law degree! Wow!
WHere would I find the pattern for this wonky mini quilt?
Wonderful quilts! I agree with her about housekeeping. You go girl!
I love the stars. They scream Pow!
Cynthia, this is a wonky star pattern that I laid out in a “plus” pattern. Elizabeth Hartman just finished a quilt a long using this type of method on a larger scale. Her website is http://www.ohfransson.com
@Cynthia — Elizabeth Hartman is doing a quilt along with this block right now. You can find all the info at OhFransson.com
Nice to see that ‘sparkle punch’ pattern with a dark background, it really works. The proofreader in me can’t help but point out that the phrase is actually ‘every once *in* a while’.
Thanks Nina.
I enjoyed watching your paper piecing demo and can’t wait to try it myself. Your wonky star mini quilt is so cute!
