True Love ~ Smocked Mini-Apron

The Smocking Arts Guild of America (SAGA) is here today with a free SAGA Stitches PDF pattern for Aimee’s Dolly Apron, a small project designed to help you learn smocking techniques.

Download your free Aimee’s Dolly Apron PDF tutorial today. The directions show the use of a pleater, a specific tool designed to create evenly-spaced pleats in fabric. If you don’t have access to a pleater you can always visit a guild meeting, or there are also inexpensive iron-on dots you can easily purchase, evenly spaced in a grid to help you iron your own pleats. (You can also find pre-pleated inserts ready for smocking if you want to go that route.) We think a little smocked something would look perfect with our Sew Beautiful Reversible Baby Bonnet for spring.
