Designer’s Dozen with Ellen Luckett Baker
Ellen Luckett Baker joins us today with a new Designer’s Dozen Fat Quarter Pack! Ellen is the author of 1,2,3 Sew: Build Your Skills with 33 Simple Projects and the ever-popular The Long Thread blog. Maybe you’ve enjoyed our free Insulated Lunch Sack pattern from 1,2,3 Sew?!… Ellen is also a fabric designer for Moda; her first Quilt Blocks collection debuted this spring, and we can’t get enough of those Wedding Rings, Flying Stripes, Ringlets, Flying Geese and more!
Ellen jumps into a great tradition of fabulous Designer Dozen packs curated by Jessica Jones, Elizabeth Hartman, Amy Karol, Amanda Soule, Alicia Paulson, Rashida Coleman-Hale and the Fat Quarterly Team. Ellen’s pack evokes the start of a happy summer, with a bit of nostalgia and a pop of color thrown in for good measure!

From Ellen:
- These fabrics remind me of vintage summer with flowers, checks and bicycles. I think they would be perfect for a picnic blanket, patchwork skirt or tote bag. Right now I’m using lots of navy blue and yellow in my projects, so I included those and added a burst of orange and some bright greens to complete the summer feel. A couple of these fabrics are linen blends, perfect for warm weather. Of course I also included the green Tic-Tac-Check print from my Quilt Blocks collection, which is on my list for making summer napkins.

Ellen Luckett Baker’s Designer’s Dozen Pack includes one fat quarter of each of the following prints:
- Brush Strokes Orange Zest ~ Summersville
Pixie Rings Lagoon ~ Stitch ORGANIC
Vintage Flowers Green ~ Ruby Star Shining
Tic Tac Check Marine Green ~ Quilt Blocks
Cruiser Orangesicle ~ Lucy’s Crab Shack
Pacific 90 ~ Kona Cotton
Honeycomb Dot Green ~ Kei
Skinny Stripe Orange ~ Hello Pilgrim
Anastasia Honey ~ Girls World Vibe
Posies Turquoise ~ Flea Market Fancy
Eyelet Grey ~ Flea Market Fancy
Leather ~ Essex Yarn Dyed

Pick up a pack today! What will you make with your “vintage summer” fabrics?!
