Delighted that you’ve used my trousers in your feature – I’d love to win a copy of either book!
Love the Stella diaper bag and all the bucket hats!
I love the kid pants! Adorable!
I made my one-year-old a bucket hat that it adorable on him, but he won’t wear anything on his head. I hope to make 2 more for my older kids soon. Maybe they will keep them on.
I love the bucket hats. My mother made a few several years ago and they are still in rotation. I need an adult one, though, so I’ll have to check out the tutorial.
Oh, I love the Oliver + S Sailboat pattern. The pants are so cute and I have plans to sew up some in chambray for my little girls!
Love that arrow quilt! Amazing!
I really love the tote bag links! Thank you!
Love the patchwork totes and I’ve been meaning to make some pants for my littlest one
I’ve sewn the lunch bag by Ayumi at the Ponk Penguin! I used annie’s Farm Stand fabrics by Lakehouse
I love the bags. So many ideas.
I just love that polka dot bucket hat. I could use one of those in an adult size!
Love seeing all the new trends. I’ve been noticing the patchwork bags too!
Definitely some interesting trends right now with arrows and such. I think we’ll be seeing more and more items made with ombre fabrics as they become more readily available.
I would love a copy of the Sewing Modkid Style book! I have a 7 year old daughter who loves dresses!
Thanks for the great inspiration! My to-do list just grew by a bucket hat, a pair of pants, and some market stalls yardage.
I love the sailboat pants and the bucket hats! How darling.
I would love to win a copy of Material Obsession 2. I love the work posted here today!!
Adorable clothes!
I love the Oliver and S bucket hat! I made one for each of my girls last summer, with some Disney prints, little mermaid on one side Minnie mouse on the other. Sadly, the older daughter has outgrown her’s (and it was already the biggest size!) and I think I’ll have to figure out how to make a bigger one. Love the idea for making a wider brim…might do that as well.
Love the bucket hats!! And the totes. And the pants. I could live without the arrows.
I love those yellow pants – how adorable! I’ll have to get that pattern for sure.
I have been wanting to make a hat for the kids for about 3 months now! This was just the inspiration I needed!
Such sweet and summery projects have me itching to sew.
Love all the arrow quilts. Hope to make one soon.
I have been dying to make some bucket hats for the kids. Thanks for these links!
I would love to make some kids pants!
Wow – I really like this post! The bucket hat is definitely on my to-do list this summer. Hoping I can find the time! Those pants are super cute too. Somehow I never noticed that arrows are “in”… maybe I just don’t pay attention very well! Ha!
Fun to see trends put together like that. Until they are together I didn’t realize that they really are trends. Thanks.
I. *just* sewed several of the Oliver and S bucket hats– this post makes me feel like I’m really hip to the zeitgeist (ha!). Very happy with how they turned out, using vintage pillowcases for fabric and a flannel baby blanket for the interfacing. Just stiff enough, and won’t get wonky in the wash.
I am in love with patchwork bags, and am presently making one out of hexagons.
I adore those kid pants!
Love those totes & hats! I’d love to make an arrow quilt, too.
I’m not sure it’s possible for me to love Trees Cream and Market Stalls Pastel any more than I already do – they are simply adorable! I went through an anti-pastels phase for several years, but that time is passed. There are just too many awesome pastel designs out there.
Love the arrows!! And, in a completely different stylistic crush, I think the market stalls fabric is fabulous.
Great post of inspiring finds! Thanks!
Those kids pants are just too cute for words.
I love those scrap bags and the bucket hats. i really love the bicycle hat. Thanks for this post!
I love seeing these trend posts! Such a fun idea!
I love the Pink Penguin Lunch Bag – it can be used for so much more than lunch – and the arrow trend!
Thanks for the trend posts. Bucket hats are great in the summer for children and adults both – especially with a drawstring tie for when go out on a boat or flying kites.

Pretty collections! I love the pretty pastels!
Love your trend report- and the eye candy.
I tried to make a pair of pj pants for my son. Uhm, no they turned out to be low riders, so out came the seam ripper and I added a few inches.
The patchwork totes are great – I am such a “bag lady!” Lovin’ the pastels too. Yummy!
I hadn’t seen arrows before – I’m still getting used to chevrons.
The pocket detail on those yellow pants is adorable! I love the bucket hats, too, and the Oliver +S bucket hat is a great pattern.
Thank you so much for featuring my quilt
Fantastic choices for trends! The arrows along with a modern twist of flying geese for quilts really is popular now.
I love all of the hats!
So many inspirations! I can’t to dive in.
love the trend posts!!
Melanie, thanks so much for featuring my Fishy Pants! I just LOVE these sewing trends posts. I already have the pattern for those Oliver + S bucket hats cut out. Now that I’ve seen those pics, I can’t wait to start sewing. Thanks again!
Love those bucket hats and kids pants! Very cute!
Just finished a 4th bucket hat using the Oliver &S pattern and have one more request! They make great gifts this time of year!
Thanks for the feature Melanie. I love the arrow quilts! Nice to see a move away from chevrons. Not sure if I can enter the giveaway because I live in Australia, but would love to win sewing modkid style!

great projects!!! thanks for including my bag
This is cool to see the new trends/styles. They are really different than past decades.
Love the picture of the kids in the bucket hats sitting on the step – they look like a modern version of Sunbonnet Sue and Calico Sam! Unfortunately I have no kids to sew for…would love to win the Material Obsession book.
I still can’t get past the chevrons…..they are everywehere and I love them! Thanks for the giveaway.
Hmmm… I’m thinking I need a bucket hat. And so do several family members.
