I almost never buy wrapping paper! I like something a little different. I have painted newspaper sheets with left over house paint before, stripes, spots and stars were the pattern of choice that year. I also bought an old road atlas and pulled out the pages and had a lovely stack of map parcels a few years ago. This year I may go for magazine pages with mini scrap fabric bunting. I also steal my partners misprints from his studio and use them for wrapping too but the paper is thick so this works best for square parcels and good quality tape is needed!

Oops, forgot to mention that I usually sew little fabric bags out of scraps to put presents in... But they could stand a cuteness boost!

I would love to win this book! For holiday wrapping, I usually recycle brown paper bags and "dress it up" with potato stamps or my children's drawings.

My aunt-in-law whipped up some easy holiday wrapping paper substitutes with some Christmas fabric and ribbon, adjustable for multuple size packages. Now we just pass these back and forth within the family each year via gifting, and it is a great reminder of how to reuse and save at the holidays.

For wrapping, I like to reuse pretty magazines with twine and a handmade tag. Also, scrapbook paper with vintage ribbons and a handmade tag.

When my kids were little I had them stamp white tissue paper with Christmas stamps in red or green ink to make wrapping paper for gifts. Also I will use actual ribbon instead of bows on some gifts so that the recipient can reuse it if they choose to. I have also sewn fabric gift bags to give gifts in.

Lots of great ideas I'm sure. I was hoping to make our own gift wrapping sacks this year but didn't quite get around to it in time so next for sure. I try to repurpose old boxes to use for wrapping but will cover them nicely instead of opening an old box with who knows what inside, it now looks just like a new gift box.
