Girls’ Clothes Tutorial Round-Up
Did you see our Boys’ Clothes Tutorial Round-Up earlier this month? Many of those tutorials would be great for girls too (girls are just so fortunate with this, aren’t they?!). Here, in honor of Kids’ Clothes Month, are some of our favorite girls’ clothes tutorials. Many of these were mentioned by readers as some of their favorite tutorials, and we love all of the variations. It’s easy to learn (and sew) a lot with these fun links. Enjoy!

Charm Pack Squares Skirt Now you have a great excuse to use up all of your small pieces of favorite fabrics. Linda has a “charming” Charm Pack Squares Skirt Tutorial for you. Linda lives in Minnesota and has been blogging for just under a year. She writes, “My main interest is in sewing children’s clothing. Tiered Skirt Korallin loved the 3 Peas tutorial for a tiered skirt. The 3 Peas blog is gone, so Korallin asked for (and received) permission to share the Tiered Skirt Tutorial on her site, Kuky Ideas. Korallin writes, “I’m a stay at home mom. Twirly Skirt Angela created this Twirly Skirt Tutorial after making twirly skirts for her daughters (this photo shows her favorite skirt set). Angela writes, “I’m Angela, an Iowa native now in Wisconsin. I’ve been sewing since my mom taught me when I was twelve and love to sew for my three girls. Amy from happythings shared a vintage design with Alicia. Alicia then adapted it and turned it into a PDF with simple directions. Visit Alicia’s beautiful blog, Mayfly, for much more. |

oh, so excellent! i loved the tutorial for the button down dress. i made one from a ladies size small linen shirt and was able to preserve the bottom hem, too (to fit my 4 year old). i’m just realizing that i never posted the completed pictures to flickr…i’ll need to do that soon. now off to check some of these out!
I made a button shirt to dress following that tutorial about a month ago. Though I did the snaps in front with mine, because it had lovely pearl snaps and two small pockets (one on each side on the chest). It turned out darling and was so easy!
Yay! I have been trying to figure out how to make skirts from patchwork- I am so excited to make them for my girls!
