I have made fabric fabric flowers before and they are adorable. I would also suggest using fray check on the cut edges to prevent fraying. It goes on wet but dries clear and slightly stiffens the edge. It insures a long lasting embellishment. You can also use this on yo-yos.

And I have a blanket from my childhood made of alot of “yo yos” sew onto a soft peice of fabric and had been looking for a tutorial on how to make them. I am so happy to have one now. Some place on your blog is a pattern to make a duck pillow and I whipped one up last night and this morning and my 2 year old cant stop hugging it.
