November 15 ~ Warm those Toes

You can warm toes of all ages with these innovative slipper and baby shoe tutorials! Create the slippers now and set them aside to embellish later with the help of our tutorials on November 26th.
Cloth Baby Shoes
Joanna’s Cloth Shoe Tutorial is a well-loved resource for anyone who wants to make soft and beautiful baby shoes. Visit Joanna’s blog, Stardust Shoes, and find more of her inspiring tutorials via her collaborative relationship with Michael Miller Fabrics (look under Tutorials and Patterns in the right sidebar). There’s also a cloth shoe Flickr group for you to browse.
Recycled Slippers
Nichola shows how to repurpose woolen fabric in her Recycled Slipper Tutorial. The tutorial is on the collaborative sew green site, home to lots of great information about sustainability, “green” crafting, the environment and much more. You can also find lots of Nichola’s inspiring ideas on her blog nikkishell, her popular Wardrobe Refashion site and her mix tape zine.
Cozy Towel Slippers
Cat runs the Cut Out + Keep site and created this Cozy Towel Slipper Tutorial to help you make some soft (and soon to be well-loved) slippers for your very own.

Thanks for the patterns. I’m looking forward to making slippers for Christmas. I have made slippers slightly non-skid using dimensional fabric paint in patterns on the bottoms. However, I just read this article that describes coating the bottom with silicon caulking. http://allbuttonedup.wordpress.com/2007/09/18/making-slippers-non-slip/
