Cloth napkins all around! I absolutely love them. In fact I always whip up one or two from any left over fabric that I have laying around after a project is finished. Makes for a rather mismatched bunch, but that’s the way we like it ’round these parts.
I need to find some cute oilcloth to make some of those snack bags. I’ve been wanting to make a few in different sizes for a while now. I hate buying and throwing out all of those ziplocs.
Yum, zucchini bread! I love the gift tags too. And that mesh bag would be perfect for a day at market.

These are my favorite kind of gifts. Small things like coasters and bookmarks are great to make with leftover bits of fabric or old clothing. They make great last minute hostess gifts!

Ohh, this is great! Particularly like the produce bags.
I can’t stand it! There are too many ideas! I will be crafting non-stop until Christmas! Can you imagine “Mr. Postman, please have this reusable produce bag! Merry Christmas!”? (Which is especially appropriate in my hometown, one of the few in the nation to completely ban plastic bags!)

Thanks for the great tutorials today! I need to check out that produce bag. I’m so good with bringing my reusable bags to the grocery store, and then need to use the plastic ones when I buy veges. It annoys me! And I’m going to try out the snack bag tutorial. I’ve been making some using a different method and it’s not quite right, so I’ll see if this is better. I like to use ripstop nylon for the inside which is readily available and food-safe.
Last year I made reuseable grocery and produce bag sets out of vintage pillowcases. Maybe this year I will make more using this tutorial.

It has been my goal to make one of everything that I really like and I can tell you that this page with keep me busy tonight after the kids go to bed. I have had 3/4 of these projects on my to-do list so this is the perfect time to get them done.

I’m just starting to make napkins for Christmas gifts. I’ve had some Mary Engelbreit fabric for a LONG time – there are 15″ squares, with either “The Queen of Everything” or “The Princess of Quite a Lot” on them. I’m going to put them back-to-back and stitch ‘em. Thanks for the additional inspiration on these.

I have been really trying to go green around our house. I have made cloth napkins and that is what we use and I have also been getting in the habit of using cloth grocery bags. The knit green book sounds neat! I made a scarf once using strips I had cut from old t-shirts. It actually turned out pretty neat!

I LOVE cloth napkins! We only use cloth in our house; I don’t even buy paper napkins any longer! I cannot wait to make some “one of a kind” with all my fun scraps! Thanks! I also LOVE the reusable snack bags. I always feel a twinge of guilt when throwing out a snack bag that was used for a few hours before consumption. Three cheers for the Environment!
I too have been feeling a bit wasteful when I throw out the plastic bags. I will have to give a bit more consideration to making some “zipoc” bags.

Those snack bags are the best. I was so tempted to buy some recently, but at $8 each, I just was not ready to do so. But, make my own? You bet! My girl will have the best looking lunch ever.

i love using the coffee cup cozies! even if i don’t have a clean reusable cup and give in to starbucks on occasion, at least i can be armed with a cute eco-friendly cozy!
Going green is always a good idea. I have been making the snack bags for christmas gifts for the last month. I have been able to get three bags from a fat quarter which is a nice set. I think everyone will love them. I like them for my carrot sticks the don’t get slimey!

I love my cloth napkins! With my three-year-old we were going through paper napkins faster than I could believe…cloth is far superior. I definitely need more and these are so cute!

I sure do love “green” projects! Many of my favorite projects have been made with repurposed materials.
Made my own version of the snack bag with the kids names on them. Also made 25 of them for 5th grade Earth Day last year. I also make the cup cozies and the mesh produce bags. I have made lunch bags and cloth napkins as well. What makes a nice gift is a lunch set: set of three bags, in different sizes, a lunch tote and a matching napkin.

All summer I made cloth napkins 12 x 6 for the counter top basket out of project remnants. They are the perfect size for snacks or a cup of coffee. The size came about due to the size of my rotary ruler. I just cut with the rotary and serge the edges.
I have just started making them two sided. One side is a cotton remnant backed with pieces cut from old t shirts.
I’m totally going to make some snack bags and napkins — or perhaps use some the ideas for napkins on the dishtowels that my sister requested for Christmas.
I wonder if there will be any day that I *don’t* think the prizes look fantastic. This is very thoughtful of you.

Diana–PUL is a laminated fabric usually used to make cloth diapers–it is awesome! So soft and flexible. If you are familiar with http://www.hyenacart.com you can get ‘diaper cuts’ which are about the size of a fat quarter.
Oilcloth–there are a few people on etsy who sell oilcloth–I’ve used oilcloth addict

I love those reusable snack bags and am thinking of doing some for Christmas gifts. I’ll have to think about using PUC; it’s not something I have really seen locally. I suppose the bags would wash easily enough so some crumbs etc inside would be ok even if there wasn’t PUC.
