Free Fabric…Monday!

Well, as always, we closed the comments on our Giveaway Day posts to conserve bandwidth and try to prevent any confusion about where, exactly, you need to go to win a prize.  It always leaves us feeling a little guilty though–everyone is being so generous and we’re just sitting back, sipping spiced cider, visiting the 300+ sites until the tips of our fingers are numb from the touchpad.

We can make up for it today though, as well as offer you a few gift suggestions.  It is by no means too late to order fabric and patterns for your holiday projects.  We’re still shipping the same day or the next day (excluding weekends), so take a look around–you won’t be sorry because last week we received three hugely-anticipated new groups!  We have the complete collections of Hope Valley, Nicey Jane and Meadowsweet and the shop looks dreamy.   Perhaps you should get yourself a little gifty that comes by the yard.

Hope Valley by Denyse Schmidt

Denyse has done it again!  Hope Valley is an absolutely gorgeous collection that is perfect for just about everything on your sewing agenda.  There are several gender-neutral prints and colors in this group, so if you’ll making something for the men on your list, you should take a peek.   We’d like to use some of these prints to whip up a few of these awesome Lunch Bags from Favorite Things–appetizing, no?   Hurry quick–we pre-sold much of this fabric, so you need to get it while it lasts!

Nicey Jane by Heather Bailey

This could be our favorite Heather Bailey group yet!  It is bright and bold with super fresh colors, and it has a fabulous assortment of florals, dots, stripes and geometrics.  We can’t wait to see what you can make with this collection!  We think the Amy Butler Domestic Goddess Apron would be the perfect pattern for showing off these very nicey Nicey Jane prints.

Meadowsweet by Sandi Henderson

In her new group, Meadowsweet, Sandi Henderson has struck a perfect balance between nostalgic designs and contemporary flavors.  We totally dig the retro strawberries and Brady Family florals, but we love them even more when they’re paired with the fantastic geometrics in this line.  The possibilities are endless, but we particularly think any of the Pink Fig patterns were made for this kind of group.

Exciting, eh?  Santa came early to SMS!  If you’d like a chance to win a yard of fabric of your choice, please comment below and tell us which of the three groups is your favorite and what you’d make with it.  We’ll select 5 winners and announce them tomorrow.

And that is only one reason to come back tomorrow!  Please stop by to learn about some fantastic opportunities to do something kind, generous and fun and maybe even win some great prizes from Fiskars (go ahead, take a look.  You’ll be surprised.)

IF YOU CAN’T SEE THE COMMENT BOX, THIS IS DUE TO A FIREFOX BUG WHEN WE HAVE MORE THAN 300 COMMENTS. PLEASE TRY ANOTHER BROWSER.

So pretty! I love the Nicey Jane, I think I would make a floor cushion for my daughter’s room with it!

We have to choose??? Well if I have to…. meadowsweet by Sandi Henderson. Depending on which fabric- I’d either make a cute pillow for my living room, or a dress for one of my daughters…

I Love, Love, Love the Hope Valley Collection by Denyse Schmidt! Admittedly, I am a sewing novice…with my first real sewing adventure being cloth napkins for Thanksgiving dinner. (They turned out fine, although all slightly different sizes.) However, I would definitely attempt some lovely (and possibly easy?) pillowcases to liven up my somewhat drab bedroom! -Jen

I think Sandi Henderson’s collection is my favorite (I love the vintage limeade!). I’ve had a bit of an obsession with vintage fabrics lately and these remind me of vintage kitchen decor. :)
I would probably make an apron with it! I’ve been wanting to put together an apron lately and I think these fabrics would be perfect!

Love, love, and love!!! Hope Valley is one of those that I’ve been a bit “Hmmm, not sure” about until seeing some things made from it, and now I LOVE it.

  6. Ricki responds:

Oh I’m so torn, I love them all! I think I agree, a Pink Fig twirly skirt made out of Meadowsweet prints would be adorable. That’s our favorite pattern in this house!

  7. Hannah responds:

oh my goodness! What a tough call on which collection i like best. All 3 collections are stunning! The ‘nicey jane’ would have to be my pick. The colours would match with a quilt idea i have in my head for my little girls room.

  8. min responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 12:41 am →

Ooh…I gotta say that Nicey Jane is just lovely. Far and away my favorite. Also, I didn’t know Denise S had a new line out. As always, it looks fab. That little stripe in the picture you have looks darling. But Nicey Jane has me thinking thinking thinking….

  9. Corynne responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 12:44 am →

ooooh, i love the Nicey Jane set. I’ve been really wanting to try making a purse, but I don’t have any amazing fabric to give me a boost. this might do it! <3 thanks for the giveaway!

  10. Corky responds:

I think I’m seeing a wonderful quilt made of white an half hexagons made out of the Meadowsweet fabrics!!

  11. min responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 12:48 am →

Oh geez, and I forgot to mention that I’d make the bag that Heather just created a pattern for on her site. It’s the one from the cover of Mary Englebreit’s magazine a couple of years ago. Just convert my two posts into one… :) It’s late, what can I say?

  12. Tracey responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 12:50 am →

Oh I am loving the Hope Valley collection. I am thinking they would look lovely made into a quilt, and possibly also a little 1950’s style summer dress?

  13. Giulia responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 12:52 am →

I’ve still my Sophia Bag Pattern to make. I can’t seem to be able to choose the fabric, but I think that the “Welcome Road Pink” by Nicey Jane would look nice in that shape…
though one yard isn’t enough for the pattern…

    love!

  14. Lauren responds:

    I *love* the Meadowsweet.

I’ve been making skirts for myself lately. And bags. Those colors are the exact colors I tend to use a lot of.

I really should be making presents for other people, but with a new machine and a lot of fun ideas, it’s HARD.

  15. kylie responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 1:07 am →

I like hope valley I can definatly see a sew liberated school tunic in those colours.

  16. Tammy responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 1:08 am →

A very tough choice between meadowsweet and nicey Jane for me.

I think I’d choose nicey jane and it would be a lovely bag!

  17. Temima responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 1:10 am →

    Love the hope valley collection!
I’ve been doing some serious nesting lately, so I’d probably use the fabric to make more baby stuff :)

  18. camelama responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 1:11 am →

I like Nicey Jane – I think I’d use these in a series of sit-upons I’m making, to use at sporting events next year. My tushie doesn’t like those cold metal bleachers at spring games! :)

  19. Amy Hodge responds:

I love the Hope Valley! It’s crying out to be a quilt!

  23. Michele responds:

Hope Valley is wonderful…I would make an apron with it.

  24. Jacqui responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 1:33 am →

I really like ‘Hope Valley’, it’s so delightfully old-fashioned and yet not old-fashioned at all! I’ve been wanting to make Mabel Monkey from the ‘Softies’ book and I think that kind of retro charm would be absolutely perfect.

  25. brittany responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 1:33 am →

i am definitely partial to the nicey jane collection. i would love it to make a few things for the new baby, like maybe the great baby blanket from amy butler’s little stitches for little ones!

  26. Claire - Matching Pegs responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 1:37 am →

So very hard to choose. All the fabric is amazing.
I have long loved Heather Bailey and Sandi Henderson’s work, but I have never purchased any Denise Schmidt. The colours in this collection are wonderful. I really go for that slightly muted look. The purple really speaks to me.

I might even have to make a handbag with it so that I could use it all the time – probably a Sherbet Bag, by Melly and Me – I just love them.

  27. Lauren responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 1:44 am →

Totally in love with the Heather Bailey Nicey Jane. I’ve been meaning to whip up a buttercup bag (who am I kidding, I’m a beginner) and I could just imagine it in those adorable fabrics.

  28. Kate responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 1:47 am →

Nicey Jane by heather Bailey is so sweet! I’d make a kimono-style top from the book “Weekend Sewing” for the newborn of a friend (due on 12/30/09). I think the Wash Day Ticking Pink backed with flannel and edged with cream would be just lovely.

I love all the wonderful ideas from this site!

  29. Leisha responds:

Meadowsweet!! What beautiful fabrics… I like the brown poppy parade especially. I’m envisioning a skirt, an apron maybe…

  30. Sandy responds:

  32. Freda responds:

I love the Nicey Jane collection! I can already see my daughter’s bed set, curtains and floor pillows made with this collection!

  33. Angie H. responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 2:00 am →

I so love them all, but I will pick Meadowsweet as the line I like best. The brown and orange is yummy! I’d make a totebag for myself out of it.

  34. Julia responds:

  35. maxine mahon responds:

These are all beautiful patterns! I’m especially loving Sandi Henderson’s ‘Meadowsweet’ collection. I’m in the (slow and careful) process of making a Giant Patchwork Octopus for my loved one and any of these pieces would be a wonderful addition <3 Goodluck all and Happy Holidays!

  36. Linda responds:

My favorite is Meadowsweet and I would make a quilt with it if I had some. Thanks for the giveaway!

  37. Joanna responds:

My favourite is Hope Valley by Denyse Schmidt. I can think of unlimited things that I can make with those lovely fabrics!! What’s on my mind now is tote bag!!! I think those fabrics will make lovely everyday shopping tote bags!! ^^

Wow, what a tough choice – all three groups are absolutely gorgeous! At a push, I think the Heather Bailey collection is tops for me – I can see myself making gorgeous bags and skirts with such pretty fabric.

  42. Katy responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 2:33 am →

I love hope valley, it’s beautiful. There’s so much I’d like to make with it, I think I’d have to roll about on it like a happy dog for a while…and then I might muster up enough courage to make a quilt for my best friend (who’s pregnant with baby number 2). The gender neutral colours are perfect!

  43. manuela responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 2:33 am →

My favorite is Meadowsweet by Sandi Henderson and I could do so many things, maybe cloth for my daughter.

  44. beccy responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 2:34 am →

Cripes, I love them all! It’s a toss up between Denyse Schmidt and Heather Bailey… um… Heather Bailey. Yes. I think I’d use it to line a bag – I know it seems a bit odd to hide a beautiful fabric, but just think, everytime I went to get my keys or some cash it would cheer me up, just like carrying around a pocket of sunshine :)

  45. Anita responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 2:36 am →

Maybe it’s because it’s getting wintry, but the warmth emanating from Meadowsweet is really drawing me in. The colors and patterns are so cozy but still fresh. I’d love to applique my kids’ clothes with this, and make throw pillows, spruce up boring indoor slippers, use it to wrap very special Christmas gifts…

  46. Chacoy responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 2:37 am →

I adore the Meadow Sweet By Sandi Henderson. I am really new to the sewing world but have some great patterns for those prints!
    Thank you for the opprotunity;}

  47. Zie responds:

My favorite is definitely the Meadowsweet range. They are gorgeous. Thanks SMS

  48. SewLindaAnn responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 2:46 am →

My favorite of the batch is Hope Valley. I’m really attractive to the colorings, they’re vibrant and warm at the same time. The combinations with it would be endless. I would want to try my hand with a modern, artsy type quilt. Something unscripted with squares and the prints starring along some rich solids.

  49. Elizabeth responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 2:48 am →

It’s so hard to decide! I’d use the Lindy Leaf Blue from Heather Bailey’s Nicey Jane set to make a long overdue cushion for my brother. :)

  50. Lora responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 2:57 am →

My favorite set of fabrics is the Nicey Jane by Heather Bailey. I LOVE roses! I collect teapots and I think that fabric would make a lovely tea cozy!

  51. Juli Levine responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 3:01 am →

I think that the Nicey Jane would make a fantastic bag!

  52. Jamey responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 3:01 am →

I love the Meadowsweet! I would make some tiny dresses or maybe a new bag for myself.

  53. Stacey responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 3:12 am →

Heather Bailey never disappoints but I just love the Meadowsweet collection by Sandi Henderson. I don’t have a little girl (yet) to make sweet little summer dresses for but if I did, I’d be all over this collection. For now I’ll have to content myself with making things for my friends’ little girls. Thanks for highlighting these great fabrics.

  54. Eliane T. responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 3:30 am →

My fave is Nicey Jane by Heather Bailey. Beautiful! I think I would make a little bag with the Hello Roses Cream ~ Nicey Jane.
Thanks a lot for the chance.

  55. Alice S responds:

I would love to win some Meadowsweet to start making some summer tops and dresses for my daughter.

  56. Magen Quiroz responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 3:35 am →

Love, love, love all three groups! It’s difficult to choose a favorite… but, I have to admit, I was just looking at Sandi Henderson’s new group. I think some would make a beautiful baby sling.

  57. cherrie responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 3:36 am →

I love the old worlde look of Meadowsweet. I think it would make up beautiful as sweet children’s clothes or patchwork cushions.

  58. Gretel responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 3:41 am →

Wow, a lovely giveaway! My favourite is definitely the Heather Bailey Group. They would work so well to make some cutlery rolls/wraps for my workmates for Christmas.

  59. Julie Campbell responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 3:44 am →

I LOVE Hope Valley! It has kind of a vintage, feed-sack feel to it! I’m making Christmas gifts and would love to use some of this for one of my bags!

  60. Agnieszka responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 3:50 am →

Ooooh, it’s so difficult to choose only one group!
But my favourite is Meadowseet’s – there is some fruits, and I love fruits!

  65. Kimberly Bacso responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 4:10 am →

I like the Nicey Jane line. I would use it to make a quilt to replace the all pink bedspread in my five-year-old daughter’s room. The line is girly enough to please her and sophisticated enough to grow with her.

  66. Shannon responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 4:11 am →

I am absolutely in looooove with the Nicey Jane line, so my choice is group #2. What I would make out of it? Aaaahhhh…the possibilities are endless…but if I had to choose just one for this post, b/c I love it so much, and would want to see it in all it’s glory, I would opt for a quilt…with matching pillow cases! :)

Thank you for the giveaway! :)

  67. Catriona Macleod responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 4:12 am →

These are all so pretty! I love that strawberry print in the meadowsweet collection. My favourite overall though, is the Nicey Jane collection. My sister has just finished her first term at art school and I think she’d love a home-sewn art roll in those fabrics to carry her pens and paintbrushes around in. I’d love to make a whole set in complementary fabrics – a pencil case, art roll, briefcase and note-book cover. She’d love it.

  68. Deb Joseph responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 4:16 am →

I am in LOVE with the Dream Dot Clementine fabric by Heather Bailey. I want to make some pillows for my den and have been looking for some “dotty fabric” and this is just perfect. It made me smile when I saw it and made my heart beat faster too :)
Thanks for the chance to win!!

  69. Anna responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 4:17 am →

I love them all, but the Meadowsweet fabrics just look perfect for a wallorganizer for my niece-to-be. I’d be the perfect way to store her stuffed animals and other toys :)

  70. Judy R responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 4:19 am →

I love the Meadowsweet! I could easily pick any of those for a fun project! I especially love the retro looking brown print and the orangy repeat print on the left.
Thanks for the great website. You are on my FeedDemon so I know the second there is an update!

  71. carmel responds:

    i love all 3 groups!
but i would choose the “nicey jane” fabric- that is so beautiful!
and i am not sure what i would do with it.
i would use it or for a baby quilt for my 4 monthe year old baby.
or i would use it for my self {for a change…} and make a nice bag to walk around with
    thanks!

  73. Val Miller responds:

Well … they are all beautiful fabrics. If I had to choose just one, it would likely be the Hope Valley. I would use them for quilts, little pouches, and other random sewing.

  74. Mare responds:

They are all so fantastic – I’m dizzy from scrolling up and down up and down! I’ve picked Sandi Henderson just because I’ve had to stop. The yummy strawberries on yellow have me already designing a beautiful spring tablerunner – I’ve had enough Christmas sewing already. Thanks for putting my name in.

  76. Andrea responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 4:33 am →

Wow, these are beautiful fabrics! I like the Meadowsweet collection the best. I make solls and these bold and cheerful fabrics would make amazing dresses! Thanks for the opportunity to wind something…again!

  78. Christine responds:

I think I’m in love with the Nicey Jane. I would make a quilt with it although since I rarely start with a plan, I have no idea what type of quilt it would end up being!

  79. Kathie responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 4:42 am →

Hi — Hope Valley is my favorite, and I would use it to create some sewing organizational tools. Just started setting up my sewing corner & need to get things ready for work.

My favourite has to be Hope Valley by Denise Schmidt, I think it would be perfect for a new year quilt, so bright and cheerful in the cold winter months. I’m also thinking headscarves and matching tote bags.

I love the Meadowsweet line because the prints look like they would hide a multitude of sins. Perfect to use for an apron for my friend Emily– she’s always getting a cooking mess on her clothing. This is partly my fault because I can’t cook for myself and I always come over for dinner!

  87. Kelli responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 5:09 am →

I am in love with the Meadowsweet, but it would be a tight contest between it and the Nicey Jane. I love the huge florals of Nicey Jane too. So–I would flip a coin to decide and then take my winnings and decorate my sewing room with some framed pieces along with making a little something for my daughter since both lines are so sweet!

I’m loving the Nicey Jane, especially the florals. I think they’d be perfect for some pretty pillowcases I’m dreaming of with a crocheted trim.

My favorite is Nicey Jane by Heather Bailey. I would like to make some aprons, like the picture.

  93. Megan responds:

Amy Butler is by far my fav of the three because her patterns are simple and yet capture your attention. I think i would make some super awesome stuffed animals or slippers with these those nobody likes cold feet in the winter brrr!!

  94. Stacy responds:

I actually really like all the groups of fabric. My favorite though is Nicey Jane by Heather Bailey. The colors are so bright and they make me “think spring”. I would make a throw pillow to brighten up my bedroom if I were to win.

  95. Rosemary responds:

  102. Delia Jones responds:

I like both the Heather Bailey & the Sandi Henderson, but seem to be leaning more towards that Sandi stuff since it reminds me of my childhood. Depending on which print is given, I can see a cute bag, or a little dress for one of my 3 gals.
    Thanks!

Ooohhhh… Nicey Jane by Heather Bailey is absolutely gorgeous. The prints are unique and fun, yet sophisticated. I would use these fabrics to make a baby quilt, and matching appliqued onesies and burp cloths for my friend who is due at the end of March. Thanks for the opportunity to win a yard!

  106. Christen responds:

I think if I have to choose just one that I like, it’s Nicey Jane and I agree with you about it making a great apron.

  107. Elizabeth responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 5:45 am →

Even though I love Hope Valley (just got my first bunch over the weekend!), I’d have to go with something from the Meadowsweet line. Come January, I’m thinking of tackling the Single Girl pattern from Denyse and I could see the polka dot fabric on the left fitting in perfectly with the fabrics I have in mind.

  108. Jocelyn responds:

I love Meadowsweet. It is so cheery! I would love to make a summertime table runner with these prints. It reminds me of sitting out on the back porch in my rocker sipping lemonade, while the kiddo’s are playing on the swing.

  109. sara responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 5:46 am →

I’m torn between Hope Valley and Meadowsweet, they are both beautiful! The first grouping are colors I have throughout my house so I’d probably use if for a table topper. The last grouping I’d probably use to make a quilt for one of my nieces.

  110. Candi responds:

I love Sandi Henderson’s Meadowsweet. They are the perfect prints to help me brighten up my kitchen (chair cushions, apron, wall board!).

yikes, this is tough. I think Meadowsweet — at least for this morning. And my daughter is in need of a couple new smocky type tops to layer this winter.

I have to pick the one I like BEST??!? They are all gorgeous- I want to eat them with a spoon. I love Hope Valley, but if I won a yard I’d pick one from Meadowsweet to make my daughter a smock top (to wear over t-shirt and jeans).

I love the Heather Bailey Hello roses cream Nicey Jane. I think a Spring tote would be fabulous or as the back of my pink and green Christmas quilt. Incidently there is a problem when you click on that print; a different print comes up.

  125. Christina responds:

Oh, gosh, I like them all! I would probably pick that pretty lime green print in the Nicey Jane line, the one on the right, and make myself a new purse or maybe an apron(pinnie). I would have to hoard it for a bit first, while I accumulated more matching pieces, though, because that’s what I do!

Thanks for the chance to win, these are all great fabrics.

I like them all, but favorite would be Nicey Jane. Those colors are beautiful. I’m making small crib quilts for the Ronald McDonald House so I’d use the fabric for that.

I love all three collections, but the one I’m especially excited about is Hope Valley by Denyse Schmidt. I just received some Flea Market Fancy (a rather generous gift from a friend in England) and so I think I’d mix the two together to make a very pretty quilt! I just started quilting in May/June and so far have made three quilts (working on the fourth now) for other people, but not one for myself.

She is always there to help me when I (inevitably) mess up my sewing machine or my fabric bleeds in the wash or any of the other problems I seem to encounter!

Hard choice! But I think Hope Valley is my fave…and I’d make clothes for my little girl…

I really like the Meadowsweet designs.
I’d love to make myself an apron!

  196. Betsy responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 7:08 am →

I would take something from the Nicey Jane collection – I’m planning a spring runner for my dining room table, and it looks like almost anything from that one would be great in it!

  197. Wendy D. P. responds:

I love the Nicey Jane! I’ve been looking for the perfect fabric to make a friend an apron – and I think I just found it!

  198. Lea responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 7:09 am →

As a whole collection I like Hope Valley, but there definitely are fabrics I like in the other lines. I’m working on gifts now and then I’d like to make fabric boxes but with a whole yard of fabric…? Maybe a skirt?

  199. Jess responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 7:10 am →

Love them all, but I’d have to say the Nicey Jane group is my favorite. I would love some new fabric to make a sewing machine cover or a few totes.

  200. ~Heather responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 7:11 am →

I do prefer the Denyse package of fabrics, not ‘quite’ as girly as the others.

  201. Tricia responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 7:11 am →

I love the meadowsweet line. Hmmm, what would I make… perhaps a new bag and change pad…or maybe a sling for my little one on the way- it’s a toss up.

  202. Shorty responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 7:11 am →

How can I just choose one group? I thought that would be an easy task, but when I scrolled back over them… well, now I am stumped. I guess first choice would be heather bailey’s group, but both Denyse Schmidt’s group and Sandi henderson’s group are gorgeous, too! I would most likely add these to a quilt project I have in mind, or perhaps a cute apron. The possibilities are endless! Thanks for the chance to win!

  203. Stephanie responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 7:11 am →

Love the Heather Bailey! I’ve been sewing so much for other people this month, I’d like to take that fabric and do something special for myself, like make a handbag. Thanks for the great giveaway!

  204. Jennifer responds:

I love the Nicey Jane collection by Heather Bailey! I would incorporate this fabric into a dress for my daughter since the colors are perfect for her.

My favorite here is Nicey Jane. I love the colors and patterns. It would look great as an apron, or in a quilt, or as a skirt…

  209. Melissa H. responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 7:17 am →

I think I have to go with Sandi’s…love the colors, but all of the collections are great. I would love to make a travel bag with these (or anything, really!).

  210. Ellen responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 7:17 am →

All 3 are great, but I think I’m really drawn to Denyse Schmidt’s Hope Valley. I’m hoping to make more napkins so these would be wonderful for that. Of course, I’m itching to try my hand at quilting…but instead of taking on a large quilt, a little doll-size quilt might be good with these too. Thanks so much! And Happy Holidays.

  211. Lynne responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 7:18 am →

My favorite is Nicey Jane by Heather Bailey. I love the bold colours and geometric shapes in this collection! I would probably make a decorative liner for some baskets with it since I would want it to be on display! Thanks!

  212. Erica Ferguson responds:

I love Nicey Jane. It reminds me of vintage sheets and I would love to make some nice things for my bedroom. I think they would look great as a window seat for my bay window and some matching pillows.

  213. Suzanne responds:

My favorite? That’s hard…I’ll say Nicey Jane but ask me two minutes from now and I might say Hope Valley :)

  214. Kristen A responds:

OOh, the Hopdot in the Nicey Jane collection is just great. I think it’d be a great quilt backing!

  215. Erin D. responds:

So difficult to choose from these three lines! Forced at gunpoint, however, I would have to pick the Nicey Jane – it’s simply enchanting. :) Thanks for the giveaway, guys!

  216. Heather C responds:

  217. Ericka responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 7:22 am →

Oh what to choose!?! I love them all. I suppose I am most likely to order Nicey Jane for pyjama pants and little girl clothes. Or Meadowsweet for napkins and placemats. :)

  218. Valerie Jones responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 7:22 am →

Oh my! I have to choose a favorite? My eyes keep returning to “Meadowsweet” by Sandi Henderson. I definately see a purse, a dress, and even an apron being made from these beauties.

  219. FibreJoy responds:

Oh gosh… I love them all! But if I have to choose from one, I would say it would be ‘Nicey Jane by Heather Bailey’, and I think I would be making an apron, which I had plan to give for the Holidays!

Thank you so much for the Free Fabric…Monday!

  222. Maggie responds:

  224. Cynthia I responds:

I think I would have to go with the Heather Bailey, although the Sandi Henderson line is wonderful too. I have an apron I have putting off making for lack of just the right fabric (and time!) Any one of these would be perfect.

  225. Persia responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 7:29 am →

Hope Valley is my favorite I like the prints that remind me of vintage styles. I would probably make a purse out of it and little coin purses to match.

  226. Amy responds:

I love the Nicey Jane! I’d make fabric balls for my 7 month old daughter, then some coasters, maybe dishtowels and aprons… wow, the list goes on!

  227. Holly responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 7:30 am →

i am loving the idea of using the apron pattern with the Nicey jane fabric! I think I would do that. Nicey jane has a sort of retro feel to it, and aprons feel that way to me as well, so i think they would be a perfect match!

  228. Sherrie Wolfe responds:

This is a hard choice! I’d select Nicey Jane and make a diaper bag for a modern mom of a sweet little boy.

I think if I have to pick one, it will be Nicey Jane. I had been drawn to the light blue palette a lot lately and Nicey Jane is just what I can envision to some of the items I want to make!

  231. Jessica R. responds:

I love the Meadowsweet collection. The fabrics are just adorable, and that Daisy Path Celery fabric would look gorgeous in the quilt I’m making. That’s what I’d use it for. At least, some of it. The rest, I’d use to make an apron.

  233. Amber responds:

I love the Meadowsweet, Sandi Henderson. I am looking for the perfect fabric to make my mom a quilt and i think that she would love that

  239. Jenny responds:

I have a hard time deciding between Hope Valley and Meadowsweet. They are all gorgeous fabrics but I think I would lean more towards meadowsweet. I see alot of bag/tote making. I haven’t made bags or totes in a while and I have seen so many tutorials while entering giveaways. Thanks for another great year of giveaways!

  240. Julia Jenkins responds:

I am new to sewing, and new to your blog. Very fun! I have always loved fabrics, and I am always looking for something new and crafty to do. I love the Nicey Jane fabrics, and I so love the Amy Butler apron. I have been dying to try to make one…

  241. Cheryl responds:

I absolutely love the new line by Denyse Schmidt, so Hope Valley is definitely my favourite out of the three sets here and I would love to win a yard! I have plans to make a luxurious throw for our couch with minky fabric backing, so I’m in need of some beauties for the front. Thanks for the chance!

I just love Heather Bailey’s Nicey Jane! I think it would be perfect for my first ever apron (I’m a beginner sewer, with no sewing machine), and maybe some lavender sachets or mini-wall hangings for my bedroom.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  249. Lorene responds:

I would pick the Meadow Sweet line and use it in a wall hanging with a floral design.

    All 3 lines are pretty.

  252. Nicki Ingram responds:

It’s a toss-up between Nicey and Meadowsweet! I can think of plenty of things to do with both lines. I love the Amy Butler apron, I’d do one of those. Maybe a little travel jewlry bag that I have a pattern for. Also, skirts for my girls and a bag for my mom. Oh! The possibilities!

  254. Leah responds:

  259. Shari responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 7:48 am →

You mean you want me to pick ONE? Yeah, right. It ain’t going to happen because I have to have all three! I definitely have favorite prints among the three groups but a favorite group? I so happy to see more “fall” coloring in modern fabrics (sorry, but I’m not a Thimbleberries fan). Love orange!

  260. Lorene responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 7:49 am →

I love them all! but I guess I love Nicey Jane most. I’d love to make myself a new post-baby-body skirt (which requires more than a yard but I’m sure I can figure it out :) .

  261. 2hippos responds:

Hope Valley! I’d make one of the many baby quilts I need to make for friends having babies this winter (6!).

  262. Katie responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 7:52 am →

There is something to love about all three groups. But I am going to have to say that Meadowsweet is my favorite. I am a sucker for strawberries. If by chance I am lucky enough to win, I will be making my daughter a twirl skort. So adorable!

  263. Lee responds:

lovely collections so springy in colours and delightful to look at. I would have to say I like the Denyse Schmidt collection the best. What would I make with it? probalby a spring inspired quilt, adding fabrics from my stash. or maybe even a table runner or a bag or …….

The Heather Bailey line appeals to me the most. The colors are so soothing to my eyes – I could just fall into them and feel warm and fuzzy. I would probably make some kind of bed covering/throw for my room. The colors would work wonderfully.

This was a tough choice- all three groups are beautiful, but I’m going to have to say that there are more patterns in Heather Bailey’s group that I LOVE than the others. I would make spring matching dresses for my girls! (And probably an apron for me!)

  274. Live a Colorful Life responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 8:05 am →

I think Heather Bailey’s collection is my current favorite of the three, although there are fabrics in each that I would love to own. Right now I’m making journal covers, tote bags and aprons, and all of those fabrics would work beautifully.

  275. Jamie responds:

I love the Nicey Jane collection! I think some of the prints in this collection would look perfect on something for my 2 1/2 year old daughter. She loves when I make her things and she likes to look through my fabric stash and pick out pieces.

  276. Chase responds:

Hope Vally is my top pick. The colors are so vintage look and they will be great for making anything handmade. I would like to make some cash zipper pouch to carry for each day expenses ( food, gas, fabric, entertainment, etc). Thanks for sharing~

  281. Lee responds:

Nicey Jane all the way! It’s so versatile. I like that you could make a baby quilt for either a boy or a girl with it. I would use it for that, or lunch bags, or tote bags, or pillows, or… as if there’s limit with that fabric!

  282. Jessie Hansen responds:

Oooh, I’m all a-flutter about those Meadowsweet fabrics from Sandi Henderson! I’m making aprons as Christmas gifts for my neices and daughter and these prints would translate nicely into a sweet apron for a sweet girl. Who says you can’t have strawberries in December? They’re red and green…and that’s festive enough for me! Thanks for listening.

  285. Becka responds:

I like the Hope Valley prints a lot. They have a vintage-y kind of feel but with really great saturated colors. I have been wanting to make new pillowcases for the guest room and I think these prints would be great.

They’re all so lovely! I think Nicey Jane is my favorite, though. I love the polka dots and stripes. I would probably use it to make my kiddo a sketchbook/pencil holder combo that I’ve been thinking about.

  287. alison responds:

So hard to pick! Meadowsweet by Sandi Henderson would be my choice.

  288. Megan responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 8:11 am →

Wow. The Nicey Jane is so sweet and pretty, but I think the Meadowsweet is my favorite. I have all kinds of things left to make for the holidays! An out of season picnic blanket, some juggling bean bags, a dress for my favorite little munchkin niece…this fabric would be great for any of those projects!

Then I’d use the left over for a quilt I’m making for her. And then from the scraps of that we’d make a paper doll skirt.

I love the Nicey Jane collection. I would make a new crib bumper for my son’s bedroom, or perhaps a blanket for him, I owe him a blanket especially made for him by his mama.

  406. Sarah responds:

  525. Earlene Williams responds:
    Posted: December 7th, 2009 at 12:17 pm →

All three are wonderful, but I have been looking for stripes and small patterns that I could make tiny two-sided pinwheel hairpins with. You just cut out little 1 1/2 inch squares, bond them back to bac with fusible fabric and cut toward the center on the diagonal, stitch four points in as in a classic pinwheel, sew the pinwheel to the hair pin, and put a dot of fabric glue on the thread to keep the pinwheel at the top of the hair pin (also around the edges of the pinwheel to keep it from fraying) . I got this idea from an Australian mom’s website, and have lost the website url. Anyone know it?

Hello, I just found your blog through Everything your Mama Made. I am going for Meadowsweet. I am a very novice sewer, but I just found a fun tutorial for “twirly” skirts for my little girls and I wanna make a couple for Christmas, matching of course, and meadowsweet has great colors! We are really trying to do a more homemade holiday to save a little and make it more personal!

So so hard to choose! I love them all. If forced to choose I’d say the Hope Valley Set. And what to make? Aprons perhaps. Maybe a new knitting needle roll. Maybe a skirt …

    Thanks for the giveaway!

I would pick Meadowsweet by Sandi Henderson. It would be perfect for the quilting class that I signed myself up for in January. Now all my husband has to do is go pay for the class and his Christmas shopping is done. Isn’t that thoughtful of me! I love the bright colours and boldness of this fabric. I plan on making each of my three kids a quilt, starting with my daughter and this fabric would be perfect. I didn’t realize when I signed up for the class just how much fabric I would have to purchase so this giveaway would be very much appreciated by me, my husband and my daughter.

Ok this is probably some kind of sacrilege but I’m not a huge Schmidt fan :( I like some of her prints mixed in with others but on the whole line together. I do love her patterns though. I think the single girl quilt is probably my all time favorite. I would like to see some larger prints mixed in with all of the smaller ones. I LOVE both the Nicey Jane and Meadow Sweet lines. I think it is sooo hard to pick a favorite but it might be the “Welcome Road Sky” I love her take on the classic stripes it’s so unique.

    Great Giveaway!!!

I would make knitting-project bags or some more beautiful quilted coasters and potholders–all of which are on my to-do list for this week!
