Birthday Banner ~ Kristin |
Did you see the first post full of Tutorial Contest entries? Don’t miss it!
*If you don’t see a tutorial here that you submitted, please check back tomorrow for more entry links.

The clothespin hanger is the one I’m looking at. The middle is a bit tricky, but hopefully I’ll figure it out. My daughter could use a trinket holder on her doorknob! I think I’ll add a piece of mesh on the front for pins and whatnot too. She’s got more “jewelry” than I do!
I really need to win the lottery so I can quit my job and just spend my time crafting. There are so many great inspirations here and not enough time in my life to make them all!
Fantastic! I can’t wait to try most of these!
thanks for all great craftyness!
I love the crib rail guard, ingenious…
I love the clothespin bag! I’ve been wanting one of these but was too lazy to make a pattern! My daughter loves the mermaid skirt! Wow! So many great things to add to my to do list!
The hand-stamped tags and the mermaid tail are going on my list right away. Thanks for the great tutorials, ladies!
Another round of great tutorials!
Wow! You’ve got some great tutorials this week. I love the Cape, the tags, the mermaid skirt (where was this 3 years ago when my kid was a mermaid for Halloween?), the rug/floor cloth, the crib rail protector (why didn’t I think of that?). Great stuff.
I’ve added two new craft projects for me to start. Thanks!
These are all great!
This contest is a great idea! Thanks for hosting it. I’m going to learn A LOT!
these are all cool, but my favorites are the birthday banner & the angel bag!
I agree with Ellen! If only I had time to make them all….
Oh man, that crib rail guard is timely! My son just got 2 new teeth. He tried to eat my face today!
Love the clever little cape and the mermaid skirt!
I’m in love with the quilted floor cloth idea! I just bought all new kitchen towels but some of my old ones would make such cute scraps for the top of the rug…yay for more ideas! :0)
Ooh, all sorts of crafty goodness in these tutes. Thanks again for all the wonderful contributions from the SMS readership!
cool ideas well done!
I think the tag making tutorial is great!
OH MY GOODNESS! All of these tutorials look fabulous. I can’t wait to try them!!! Thanks everyone for posting them!
So many more cute things to make. First on my list will be the crib rail pad since I discovered my little one teething on hers yesterday!! We will also be making the mermaid tail
Who can resist a little mermaid princess!
loving that tag tutorial. what a fabulous idea.
The tag-making tutorial is perfect! Now I just need my friend to finish redesigning my website, and I’ll be able to get one of those custom stamps made!
I’ve been meaning to make some shopping bags for a while, so that tutorial is definitely inspiring me to get on it. The clothespin bag is also a must have! What great projects.
I vote for the angel bag — perfect for a cute spring look!
that Happy Birthday sign is adorable!
Wowwww! So many lovely entries! FFF?
All great ideas! How do I choose one to begin with?!
Great tutorials!
I wanna win FFF!

The cape is adorable.
I love the eco-friendly totes. Thanks for the great tutorial.
The cape tutorial is awesome! I made my girls a batgirl/supergirl cape and they love it!
Nursing cover! Awesome!
The quilted crib rail cover is ingenious! I will have to give that a go when baby #2 makes his/her appearance.
Great little tutes, here, thank you all. I want to go and make a million tags now, combining some of my favorite things… rubber stamps and fabric!
Thanks – I’m looking forward to trying them out
I love the bday banners! I think just plain they would be cute too! Maybe with some sort of removable lettering they could be multi purpose? velcro maybe?
Very cute!
Thanks for all the great tutorials – even simple things like the fold over pouch make cute gifts!!
Helen in Malden, MA
I will definitely make some embroidery floss bobbins, and that tag tutorial was also great.
More bags and totes to add to my list of bags and totes to make.
Thanks for all the links to great tutorials.
Ooh – a clothespin bag. Awesome. I love buntings/banners in any form, too.
I really like the birthday banner. It reminds me of the banner that my parents always put up on each of our birthdays. It would be fun to update it using the sewing pattern so that it would last a lot longer.
Each one of these tutorials brings a little of something to mind and I’d just like to say they are all great! Thanks for Sharing!
I’m loving the rug and the nursing cover-up. Thanks for all the great tutorials, everyone!
Mermaid skirt is too adorable!
I’m so thankful for inspired and creative people. Thank you for you tutorials for us not so inclined.
Sew Mama Sew has been on my Feeder list forever and I read all the news with such pleasure but am a little scared of launching into any actual projects. My son’s birthday is coming up and I wanted to make a banner but what should be simple math seemed a bit much to think through. When lo and behold, thanks to your call for tutorials, there is a wonderful tutorial for exactly what I am looking for with a wealth of hints and tips that make it all seem so much less daunting. Thanks for existing Sew Mama Sew and thank you Kristin for the great tutorial!

Oh, that cape pattern is perfect! I have three boys who would love some superhero capes to play with.
I’m a bag-aholic, and I can’t wait to make either Suzan’s shopping bag, or the Angel Bag. I love them both!
I could be reading these all day! How will I ever have time to do them all? Must I work for a living? Couldn’t I just sew??

So many fun things to do.
I Love, love, love, love the Angel bag !! It’s so cool
I’ve begun sewing again, quilting was the first project and I didn’t think I would ever sew clothes again (I kept telling myself it was cheaper to buy clothes) but after happening upon this blog, my desires to sew clothes can no longer be denied. I’m currently on my second shirt – and now I’m feeling a burning desire to make purses. I like the Angel bag and will keep this in mind.
These are great. I love the tagmaking, but I’m still reading others …. thanks!!
Love the rug!
Those shopping totes are so so useful!!
You know the The “Mary” Apron ~ Joanna could also double as a cozy to sit a sewing machine … those pockets would come in handy. It gets my vote.
