Those silver guitar picks make me wish I had actually learnt to play the guitar I was given for xmas when I was 14 (half my life ago… eeek!!) I could really do with a pair of fingerless mitts too, not because I am finally going to learn to play that guitar, but because i always have icy cold fingers at work – and I need my fingers free for my keyboard.

  90. Katy responds:
    Posted: November 4th, 2008 at 1:15 pm →

Very nice. I am a violist in a professional symphony and those fingerless gloves are a favorite in the string section. A really easy way to make them if you don’t have a sweater to cut up is to sew a tube of fleece that will fit your arm and then cut a slit for your thumb. I just made myself a pair that way but I lined them with cotton knit so that they would breath better. I think these would also be great for kids in cold climates to wear under their gloves to avoid that cold gap between the glove and the coat sleeve.

I was just wondering if you would be willing to post about a Quilt Giveaway to Help Baby Mia. Baby Mia is 3 months old and in the Seattle Children’s Hospital where she’s been since birth awaiting a heart transplant. She is one of 8 babies on the heart donor list at that hospital. There are more details at:

    a-mama-drama.blogspot.com

Thanks so much for concidering this. She is my good friends baby and I’m trying to do everything I can think of to help. I just can’t imagine the pain of watching your baby in such pain, and not being able to even hold her due to all the tubes, and not knowing whether or not when the day comes for you to go back home, whether it will be with your baby or not. Thanks for your help. I love love love your site like so many others.
