    I’m SO excited about the secret pocket Easter eggs. I have to bring candy filled eggs to our church Easter egg hunt. The problem is that I gave up buying anything new for Lent, which includes plastic eggs. I’ve searched several goodwill stores, but no luck. Now I have a solution! I can’t wait to start sewing.

    My daughter makes the fabric baskets. They are even prettier in person than they are in photos. She makes small baskets and then makes fabric coasters to fill them, a real nice gift for anyone for any occasion.

    Love the Lucky Ducky pattern. I adapted it to make them as a cuter substitue egg. Instead of sewing the top seam, I left attached a cute button and left the inside for stuffing with doodads. Thanks for all the great ideas!

    I loved that basket when I saw it on Moda Bake Shop. Maybe I can make one before next year. That might be a nice winter project with some cheery material for a pick me up. Easter clothes are on the top of my list right now.

    the lambikin is so cute, but has a huge learning curve! I have tried it over and over again and I just can’t make it turn out right. I tried enlarging the pattern and that didn’t work either. If you are totally new at sewing, lambikin is probably not the best choice for your first project. Ask me how I know. :o )

    I am sewing the sweet cashmere bunny for my little bunnies! It won’t be cashmere but I think it will be cute! Isn’t is great to fill their basket with gifts that aren’t all candy? I am also adding flower seed packets- zinnia and sunflowers- to their baskets. We will plant them together, a traditional I hope to carry on through the years.

    I saw retro mama’s Easter eggs on oneprettything a few days ago. I’ve already made a few and the pattern really gives a perfect egg shape– not too round. Kim also gives a helpful tip about stretching a fabric scrap to see which direction would have been running parallel to the selvage. Highly recommended!

    oh – i love all of these… but the chibi rabbit is so cute! i foresee lots of ignoring housework for the next few week or so – cause really what’s more important sewing or housework. yeah, i thought so too!

    I just made the “cashmere bunny” but used minky fabric and it turned out SO cute! I made it for my grandbaby so didn’t add any buttons for eyes, but instead I embroidered thick French Knots. Great pattern and very lifelike with minky.
