Barefoot Books

I remember the first time I found Mother Goose Remembers in the library when my little guy was just a few months old. It was my introduction to Clare Beaton and we read it over and over (me in awe of the tiny stitches and intricate details, he in awe of the whimsy and color and poetry). Our home library has since grown with well-loved (and now well-worn) Clare Beaton favorites, and that first book was also my introduction to the colorful, beautiful worlds in so many Barefoot Books publications. I know the Bear books by heart!

Barefoot Books was started by two mothers and has a beautiful selection of books just right for a wide range of ages. You have a chance to win one of three Clare Beaton Barefoot Books following our interview with Ms. Beaton, coming up next:

Baby’s First Book
Celebrate the treasured moments of your baby’s first years with this beautiful book that features first rhymes, everyday scenes and simple items. The colorful pages offer plenty to look at and talk about.
For Babies to 2 Years.

Mother Goose Remembers
Enjoy the rhythms and cozy warmth of the forty-six nursery rhymes in this nostalgic collection. This treasured gift book features a feather from the plumage of Mother Goose hidden on every page, waiting to be found by youngsters. Book with CD edition includes songs and rhymes performed by Caroline Butler, Charles Spicer, Nick Hooper and Dave Townsend.
For Babies to 5 Years.

Secret Seahorse (hardcover)
Descend into the depths of the vast blue sea to meet all kinds of aquatic creatures. This hide-and-seek, rhyming selection follows the search for a speedy seahorse through the astonishing coral reef. The paperback edition includes educational notes at the end with information about seahorses and coral reefs and the creatures that live there.
For Ages 1 to 7 Years.
